Cam angered me greatly. He went from extremely vocal, bleed Blue & White, #1 cheerleader to Judas. I know he's just a kid and he was trying to make the best decision for himself and his future... But we all learn from our mistakes and choices. His consequence is the animosity many feel for him for these stated reasons. Dude proclaimed his love for Penn State then left it at the alter... And took all his bridesmaids with him.

him pledging that much and switched proved to me his immaturity. he was really excited about picking a big time program and my guess is urban seemed like a better choice then the new coaching staff that at the time most psu fans were not excited about at all. obrian who? from where? never heard of himshrug

  • Ok, fine. So mayb i was a little harsh. Was just venting at the time. But like JC said, carmen was a PSU guy in and out. I dont care bout schutt or connor that much (connor was a surprise commit neways), but carmen shud have stayed and rallied that years recruits if he truly bled blue and white. He shud have been the vocal leader (that he proclaimed himself to b) and got the other recruits to stay along with him. Armani jus followed him to OSU, thats pretty much ovb. Noah Spence i guess i can understand. but carmen n armani shud have stayed. Also, there is nuttin rong in rooting to kick their arses in the years to come. hammer :)

  • I'm sure you felt this way about them 5 months ago too right??

Some people put far too much energy in the decisions of 17-18 year old kids....The star ratings aren't the tell all on an athlete...Look at the Boise St's that rarely get a 5 star and only a few 4 star....it's about coaching....

I LOVE it when "fans" call out kids for not picking their school...Buckeye fans included...it's hilarious to see what I assume are adult men looking like a spoiled kid when not getting their way....

Face it, if Spence, Reeves and Williams committed to Penn St you'd be in the bathroom 3 times a day rubbin one out, but since they committed elsewhere, they are not good players who won't start or you didn't want them anyway because they aren't "Penn Staters"...

I love when someone tries to tell me Boise state is good when try play in that shitty ass conference. Won't be even go undefeated in the big least

  • I believe Boise St has proven on the field they can play with the big boys....they have a pretty argument...would you want to play them? ASk Oklahoma, Oregon and others how that early season or bowl game worked out for them...

and for the record, did I say it was BETTER not to get 4 and 5 stars?? No, I said teams like Boise do it with far less than others.....typical PSU'er...

I NEVER said "he wasnt a good player" or "he will never start at PSU". He is def'ly a good player and comes from a good background. But how can your team members trust someone like that who would bail on them when the chips are down. He was a true PSUer who bled blue and white (or so he claimed himself to b). If i was playing on a team, i wudnt wanna trust someone like that. Ok, so the DC changed, so mayb some of the schemes will change. BUT his POSITION COACHES were still there. The people who would coach him and groom him ARE STILL THERE!! Wht part of that did you not get..?! They would teach him the new schemes. Armani was always considered a Cam +1. Kinda like a package deal. I mentioned earlier that i wasnt surprised by connor or schutt's decisions. Even Spence's for that matter. He never commited. He was fair game. But these two have me bangin my head on a wall thinking that they were PSUers and then switched when we were down, instead of stickin wid us. N i do wish all these youngsters the best of luck in their futurs, even if they didnt chose PSU. Newho, just my feelings. I dont expect a buck to understand that.

JMO, but use complete sentences and words when you're representing PSU to another fan base, or really a grad of any other school, period. Especially if you're going to say that you "wouldn't expect them to understand that".

  • Was BOB hired yet when Cam committed to tOSU? I'm asking, not being a smartasss....If not, then the uncertainty was still there....AS far as trusting him, I'm sure if his heart isn't in it, that will clearly be seen in the workouts...There is a big difference in the workout structure now than under the Tress regime....If guys aren't putting in the effort, they are gone...so if his heart is truly with PSU, and it shows, then you will be seeing him back there as early as next year....time will tell..

Not all players go to play for their "favorite" team. It's not like the old days, when it was a shoe in that home grown players stayed and played for their favorites...it's a business now, good or bad the player of today is looking more at "me" and less at "we"...

says a fan of a team that used the expression "little sisters of the poor" and then almost lost to toledo....and I would love for penn state or ohio state, or really any big time program play boise states schedule...they are called "cupcake" games and are usaully played the first couple weeks before the "real" season begins

  • Their schedule is fairly weak, but one has to admit when they were put on the "Big Stage" they performed...2 BCS Bowl Game victories doesnt look too shabby on the resume.

I agree....would like to see an NCAA mandate that whoever you play in your bowl game is your first opponent the next year...everyone start off with a decent or tough game....

OUr schedule this year is a joke, all for not since we are not going bowling...I am surprised at our OOC schedule this year after we have played Texas, USC, Miami in home/home and have Oklahoma and Va Tech on future schedules...Don't know how this year slipped through the crack unless Tress thought this would be a rebuilding year (Pryor gone Braxton's first year) which was his plan I'm sure....

I don't know....some of our fans will criticize if he doesn't sing Carmen Ohio on way to high school....I'll go to our other board and see if what they've said, I haven't heard any of it as of yet.

That first part would be so cool. Cept bama lsu would be dumb lol. I also wish more bowl games were up north. Give us(big ten) a travel advantage. And players bit distracted by weather and girls in things left and right

I went to our Rivals board, asked what has been out there on Williams, unanimous replies, mods included, that they have seen nothing said negative toward Williams...Only thing out there was Reeves getting threats by Michigan fans on Twitter....

It was on your "Front Row" board on 247.

Even Duane came out and clarified he wasn't high on Cam because he didn't seem to like contact and he didn't look bigger than 200.

First of all, I have no idea what you're trying to prove by posting so much over here.

Secondly, we had kids who committed to Penn State before O'Brien was hired. THEY knew they were committing to more than just a coach.

You see, once your usefulness to Urban has worn out, you don;t get to enjoy what the university has to offer. You are only at OSU for one reason, and one reason only.

Hence, why we say "Penn State kind of kid", and not "O'Brien kind of kid."

There is (or was) a thread on Bucknuts questioning Cam's size and toughness to play LB.

    Interesting how its been deleted.

JMO here, obviously, but extremely unprofessional of Duane to post something like he did. Not OK to call out a kid like that when he can't defend himself.

If it really happened I agree. And what makes it worse is the kid hasn't even played a down yet. I hope some recruits urban is trying to get read that and noticed how psu community is different then brutus fans
