  • we have had this recruiting class, i wonder (and kind of hope) that certain kids that bailed on psu late in the game and switched to the Red and Dark White have come to realize maybe they were better off here. them switching over after verbaling with psu and then going back on that to another school makes me feel they were not penn state bred anyway. but i still wonder if that decision bothers them at all. probably not denman because he will most likely transfer from Rutgers before his sophomore season though. that kid was all over the place haha

I've been wondering the same thing. I've got no love for traitors. Enjoy watching the bowls from the tattoo parlor o$u.

  • I doubt the kids who switched are regretting it that much. Most of them will probably be contributors at some point for OSU with maybe the exception of Williams and it's not like they're going to some crappy program like Pitt. They're all gonna be playing for OSU, one of the best programs in the country and after next year have a chance to compete for championships. Calling them traitors is alittle harsh, they just did what they thought was best for them given the situation.

  • After Breneman committed, I remembered that he and Spence are friends. They are very similar as far as their potentials go. But after listening to Adam's interviews after his decision, there is a major difference between the two. Adam wanted to be a part of the healing process at Penn State and Spence took the easy way out. To me, Spence and the "floppers" at Ohio State are cowards compared to the guys that we have on board this class and the last. "Coward" is a pretty strong word but its the first one that comes to me when I think of guys like Spence, Williams, and Reeves.

  • They're not feeling regret yet.
Cam might be, because he's already been criticized by their fans and isn't even on campus yet, and I doubt he ever gets to start there.
But the rest of them won't feel any regrets for the time being. The regret will come after we whoop them a couple times and Mich also beats them and a certain coach realizes that his job ain't so easy just because he's not in the SEC anymore, and gets stressed out and begins to experience chest pains.

hes being criticized already? maybe he didn't realize urban used him to get to armani. I was shocked Armani switched (i think im spelling his name right) because he would most likely have been a four year starter. schutt was understandable because he was a big notre dame guy just took to long to commit but Noah spence i thought would still have been in our corner due to the fact LJ SR. is the man

Umm..I know that girl in your signature lol. I was a PSU cheerleader 2008-2009, yes a male cheerleader. She definitely has the looks in person (and apparently that photo) to be a future Playmate of the Month.

she is still a cheerleader this year haha, from other inbox messages i have been receiving she seems to be quite popular among the male population that roams around state college either during the week or for football and basketball games

the difference is i think Noah let other people's perception influence his decision and Adam decided to pick a school and a offense he felt most comfortable in and thought he would have success. Some people still think we will get the SMU treatment, which i think is ridiculous but i try to follow the belief that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and it helps me sleep at night knowing that i am competing in life against morons that have thoughts like these.

I agree. I think its just my hatred for OSU that makes me feel they way I do.

  • i hate to say anything good about ohio state but these kids really cant go wrong with either program. I think the only way they end up regretting it is if we do something really special here like winning the MNC.

  • Hey, you cant spell c_ck__cker without OSU. Ok, just joking. Feel free to delete this comment Sean. Was jus tryin to show my hatred towards OSU and that liar they call a head coach. Those kids were def'ly not PSU material. If they were, they wud have stuck by us in our time of need. But they didnt. I understand they are just kids and did wht they thought was right, but commitment shud mean something, even during thick and thin. Whats ironic is that most of the guys who left were on the defense side. LJ Sr & Vandy STAYED!!! These two were their position coaches. Newho, will b fun kickin their @rse in the next few years!!

Geez, we sound bitter. I'm not sure why the discussions keep popping up on the kids that changed their commitment, I'm here to root for the kids that want to be, and are PENN STATE. I think we can stop with the bashing of kids who couldn't think for themselves. The more we sit around with the negativity the more we become like the bad apples as any fan base has.

  • Best answer is, if they succeed then no. You could ask this question about any kid that commits to any school over another. Hell, 3-4 years from now AB may have regrets, doubtful but still possible. I wouldnt say these guys took the easy route either, they went to a OSU program that just came off a horrific season (one of its worst), however Buckeye fans ,myself included expect to contend for a Big Ten Title year in and year out. The pressure will be on these kids and sure some may not live of to the hype but I think together they have put themselves in a good position to succeed. IMO a majority of kids don't go to a school because they "love it" or grew up fans, etc. They choose a school that will give them the best chance to win, showcase their talents and springboard themselves into the Leauge.

And wasn't it you and your fan base that said Breneman chose PSU only because he was a fan?

Me? no, I said it probably played a part, as well as the school being close to home but also that he may have connected and want to build something w/ Hackenburg and look forward to playing under BOB.Do you deny that his love of the PSU program growing up played absolutley no factor? I did say a majoirty though, so maybe AB could be in the minority of kids that does truly pick to play for the school he loves? Has the question not been asked yet on what brought him to his choice? OSU has a few kids every year that are die hards so to speak, grew up fans and would want to play for OSU regardless of who the coach is. Just gotta hope those kids are the elite group of talent. Dont take offence if a kid picks your school because he is a fan, what does it truly matter what got him there as long as he is there.

It played a part, no doubt. However, there were other factors here that led him to PSU. Only a foolish OSU fan would think otherwise. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the reasons.

AB said that prior to the naming of BOB as head coach, PSU WASN'T his leader - even though he grew up a fan. That should tell you what the main reason was and it wasn't because he was a fan - he clicked with the new staff and thought PSU's offense and use of the TE was the best place for him and the fact there was a QB on board already - one that he recruited to PSU.

Again, fools think the only reason he chose PSU was because he was a fan.

A lot goes into picking a school and most of those variables changed drastically overnight.
new d coordinator and secondary coach.
    new head coach.
new rest of the staff including some of the guys that had built great relationships with them.
extreme uncertainty in general regarding the future of what was arguably the most stable program in all of college football when they picked it.

Please try to keep some perspective here. It definitely stings that they left us for Ohio State, but it's wrong to dislike them any more than you would dislike a typical ohio state commitment.

i dislike reeves and schutt more though, can't help it, with still's success last season as well as LJ SR track record for pumping out pro linemen as well productive college players, and the depth chart screaming for reeves to come in...makes it hard to believe reeves wasn't just following cam around and schutt only threw a verbal out because he was made that ND picked up Day..>Cam switching doesn't even bother me that much, (thank you Alex and your visit this weekend) with the amount of talented linebackers we are looking at

  • Cam angered me greatly. He went from extremely vocal, bleed Blue & White, #1 cheerleader to Judas. I know he's just a kid and he was trying to make the best decision for himself and his future... But we all learn from our mistakes and choices. His consequence is the animosity many feel for him for these stated reasons. Dude proclaimed his love for Penn State then left it at the alter... And took all his bridesmaids with him.
