The Lions' Pride

I have read a lot about position changes, who is and isn't fast, who has or doesn't have lateral quickness, etc. There seems to be a sense that the coaches are moving players around blindly. One thing that has been ignored on the message boards is the fact that the new staff has done extensive pro-combine style testing on the current players. The new staff has their own data on "measurables" (yes, I know that's not the same as playing ability) that they trust, not old numbers that may have been inflated.

It would be interesting to know those combine test results, or at least the top 5 or so for each test. One rumor I heard was that 40 times were electronic, and therefore slower than the old reported hand times across the board.

Maybe I am wrong, but a staff that values speed and "playing fast" will make good use of those numbers in their initial assessments, then see who can do what on the field this spring.
