    the hardest part is they want all apps to come out in under five minutes and all entrees under twenty, with 100 people we are just gonna be churning food out left and right haha

  • 74 reservations!!!!!!!!! oct 25th is the date, getting so excited, just had another premeal to make all the entrees and apps, the red wine sauce for the steak is phenomenal and the you can't go wrong with the bbq chicken, sides are asparagus or potatoes, or for those of you like me you can get both

    Wow! 74 reservations in 12 days....just amazing! And you still have more than 3 weeks to go. We're looking forward to meeting Mel and you and any other board memebers who may have signed up.

    Hey everyone, so I am currently taking HRIM 430 this semester. This means that my group I am in needs 100 people to come to this dinner or we don't get a very good grade. The students do all the recipes, cooking, hosting, cleaning, and decorating. My group is going to having our dinner on Thursday Oct. 25th. This is the weekend of the Ohio State Game. It is a Fine Dining Experience located on Park Ave in the Keller Building (Cafe Lara).I am asking those who will be around to please consider coming to this event (BYOB). It would be very appreciated if some of the alumni or students could come out and support us as we Manage our Restaurant night. I will attach the menu as well as the online reservation listing in the post below.

    Our Group is Theme Is Speakeasy: Chicago Chophouse and I will say the Steak, Veal, and Chicken are all amazing, as well as the Baileys Cream Pudding

    I would highly recommend this to anyone that likes food.

    I went to one of these about 5 years ago when a friend of mine was in HRMI 430 and the food was lights out and so was the service.

    hahaha please don't break any speed laws in order to make it happen, entrees are about 15-23 and apps are 5-7

    Also got to meet PSUMEL and Kevin in person. Always nice to put a face and voice behind our online personas.

    If you every get a chance to dine at Cafe Laura (Mateer Bldg on Campus), near the Nittany Lion Inn, I highly recommend it!

    These students do a heckuva job and our food, service and experience were fantastic tonight. This is a little hidden gem of a Restaurant on campus that ranks up there with the best.

    Thank you so much for posting these kind words on here. all the students really tried to make it a memorable experience and i immediately will rely this onto every one of them. It was great meeting both of you and I hope you really enjoyed the picture. 109 was the official total of entrees bought out of 122 and we hit 2,800 which is a really solid night for the first couple weeks. I am sorry I could not talk to you all a little longer but I left once before and it became a tad chaotic keeping up with ticket times. I will post the second meal dates shortly but am honestly getting changed to hit up cafe with people that helped make this whole dinner possible...WE ARE!!!!

  • Just got home, and I agree with Kirk, that everyone did a terrific job,and made the evening special for our birthday gal. I appreciate the extra touches you did to make it a very worthwhile dining experience. The food was outstanding and we all agreed to try and make it down for the next one. It was also great to finally meet you and Kirk. Well done!

  • Kevin, that picture that your team produced is going on my desk at work. Perfect size! And thanks again for a great experience. From the Hostess and Host we were greeted with "Happy Anniversary". To our primary server and salad server who also gave us a cheerful "Happy Anniversary". And the wedding picture idea; Lisa was not in on that so it was a pleasant surprise. Great idea Kev!

    This was such a unique experience and we're very proud to have participated in this critical project for you and your team. Job well done Bro! Keep up the good work.

  • We have about 93 reservations at the moment, with the dinner being on Nov 29th, but our group would like to break the record and with the menu and comment cards we received our prof. (Paul Howard) thinks that it is possible, We are shooting for 140 people exactly. Anyone who is wavering on making a dinner sign up I can forward you written messages or put you in contact with some groups that did go and had a blast. When I have any free time I also am still ghosting on this site just checking up on posts from the great site guys we have on here.

    Oh that will be great, I will be able to open up the reservations for you if some times work better, so if one of the times that you want says it is all filled up just message me and I can sneak your table in at that particular time...I will be front of house this time, so I will be able to come talk to tables and not just be banished in the kitchen haha

  • Folks, if you live anywhere near campus, this is a wonderful experience that you will cherish! The Cafe Laura is awesome and the student staff does a helluva job. Please take up Kevin on his invite, I swear you will never regret it.
