What exactly has ben jones killed it on??

Why would Boise State boosters be calling peeps in PA to get info and not their own AD and internal contacts? Makes me a little suspicious of this info. Just playing devils advocate, but anyone have thoughts on this?

Believe him or not, Ben knows some stuff. He's a life long State College resident, and knows many people in the area who have some valuable information. He is also on his way up in the Penn State media universe, and gets to trade information with some of the guys that are tossed around on this board. I'm not saying his information is 100% acurate all the time, but I'll take his word over some other "sources" on here ("my friend's cousin's roomate knows Richt's daughter's lab partner's aunt"...).

And he's "been killing it" on the actual beat. His coverage of those few days in State College where the world was turned on its ear was spot on, and he's been providing a ton of solid ground information since then.

Then again, that's just my opinion. You are welcome to continue to believe whomever you want.

You absolutely are. But Ben is not BROOKS. I'm not sure I've ever seen Ben pass anything off as his own, but you can continue to feel that way. He may confirm some things posted elsewhere (the recent fight comes to mind, where Ben later confirmed, after talking to actual players and doing beat work, that the fight in fact happened), but he's not stealing credit.

It's so hard to keep up with all the Jones'.

For those that may not know, Ben Jones is on the staff at Black Shoes Diaries which after their last merger with several oher blogs does have some decent info once in a while. Their Tues recruiting report is not bad although Sean usually beats them to anything significant.

David Jones is on staff over at PennLive and I have yet to see anything by him that didn't make me wish I had not opened the link....

At least those are their online locations, no idea if they are in print anywhere as well.
