  • Great story, but Zak shut down the rumors that he was promoted to DB coach himself on his twitter... But nonetheless, glad to have him here at PSU as a GA. The players love him too... They are always tweeting him love.

    Nothing. There were a lot of posts earlier saying that he was promoted... I just figured this was another one. All everyone has been talking about all night is the coaching shake-up.

    But I've seen the vid before. Powerful stuff. Mr. E has my respect for sure.

    Definitely not another post naming him db coach, just sharing his story. I grew up a fan of auburn and psu, but ended up going to PSU because I love psu more. With that said, I remember the whole thing with zac when it happened and wanted to share his story. Figured people should at least have some background on who this "GA" is.

    Yeah. Awesome story. I looked him up when I heard he was a GA last year... I watched this clip like 50 times. Crazy.

    It doesn't. Like I said, everyone all night has been talking about the coaching shake up and potential replacements. That's all. I thought I'd throw that out there before anyone else commented on hearing that he was Butler's replacement.

  • just because he wasn't promoted today doesn't mean he won't get promoted tomorrow. Who knows who BOB has in mind and maybe he's waiting on an answer from the them and if it falls through this kid may get his shot.

    This is going to be a pretty big hire. I think BOB is going to hire someone other than a 2nd year GA... Also, factor in that he was just at the huge coaches convention... I think something is afoot. Can't wait to see who it is... So anxious for this hire...

    I agree and having a guy like Zak on staff and a viable fall back option allows BOB to shoot big.

    Yep, first the NFL is all up on him, he has connections to Belichick, and then he goes to that and lays out his principles in a very kicka$$ speech, which almost appeared to be his pitch to someone that come to PSU under the OB and he can make you a made man....

    are we even sure he's going to hire a DB coach? There is still that issue of not having an offensive coordinator. One thing I have learned as a manager is that experience isn't always the best predictor of success. Heck OB himself was deemed unqualified by the masses here and just 1-year later he's COY and interviewing for multiple NFL head jobs. Some people just have the "it" factor. I don't know if Zac does or not, but OB has shown with the promotion of Butler that he's not afraid to overlook experience.
