  • While I have been living outside of Pennsylvania since graduation from Penn State in '96, John is the state senator for my birthplace of Carbon County. In this vein, all power to Senator John Yudichak.

Thanks for posting. Good for Yudichak. Reading his release got me fired up again. Just placed a call to the Board of Trustees 814-865-2521 and Erickson's office.

  • I thought I read somewhere the decree had some verbage that allowed it to be looked at during the time of the sanctions. If that is true maybe they could use that as a starting point and use what Sen. Mitchell has been saying as progress.

I still think the BOT and Erickson royally screwed up when they signed the decree.

I just wish enough trustees had balls or at least common sense!

True but that would actually help children. Louis Freeh needs the money more. George Mitchell needs the money more. Gene Marsh needs the money more. And implementing reforms we don't need.

All of that is a better use of the money, don't you think?

  • Fact is they underestimated the will for people to find the truth. I seriously think the BOT thought that as soon as Freeh released this report that people would just "move on" as they have been hoping.

Problem is as soon as Freeh was hired a ton of people started digging up his connection to PSU and some of the BOT Members as well as his shanaigans prior to this.

No way the BOT commissioned this report thinking that the NCAA was going to bring the hammer down. The reason we haven't heard form them is pretty simple. They know they screwed up and don't know how to fix it.

They are in shock that their little 6.5 million dollar keep us out of trouble card is going to cost about 150 million when it is all said and done.

Every one of them should be dismissed. No business in the world allows their BOT to lose that much money and still have the power.

  • The BOT is more broken than people realize. I think most of us get it, but the current dynamics since Lubrano and crew entered the picture is really something. the 2 incumbents MUST not be re-elected and I can't stress this enough. Suhey is a problem, a major problem, and beating the powerful voting movement by PS4RS would end it. We not only need to vote him out, but send a message with a landslide victory over him.

Why is Suhey a major problem? Did he not want to share the family royalty status with the Paternos?

How does this no affect the students of the university and the taxpayers of the state. 150 mill, wow!

  • It most surley does and therefore they need to be held accountable. They made the decision to hire Freeh, they made the decision to basically say the NCAA could use the Freeh Report, they made the deicision to really have no leader during the time of crisis.

They screwed this up and now not only PSU gets hit financially but in the end I bet so do the people in the state.

The state is already cutting back on all the state schools financially. You think they can afford 150 million.

I know, I know they say it won't be a dime from taxpayers but the money is going to come from somewhere.

for starters, he's in an alumni elected seat, but couldn't care less what the alumni want. He's part of the elitist club that has been calling the shots in this PR disaster they call leadership. If he's voted back into his seat BY ALUMNI, we might as well waive a white flag.

Either the taxpayers or the student by higher tuition. No way around it.

"As someone who played for Joe Paterno and was a captain, I know full well that he did a lot of tremendous things for the university and inspired generations of students and alumni," he said. "But as a trustee, I have a responsibility to focus on the entire university and its many challenges in helping to educate our more than 96,000 students. That's where my focus is." - Suhey

I can kind of understand that back then. But if he isn't calling for a review of the Freeh report and admitting a rush to judgement now, he is part of the problem.

He as everyone else showed no leadership. He allowed Corbett/Linda Kelly to railroad our university. He allowed John Surma to railroad Paterno. He allowed Erickson to be our president (I can understand putting Spanier on leave, a little), we needed a strong leader to counteract the lies spread by the media. He substantiated the lies by allowing Paterno to be fired. He substantiated the lies by allowing Freeh to lie. He substantiated the lies by never calling Freeh into question. He substantiated the lies by never speaking out about the consent decree.

GOD WAKE UP. THIS BOT HAS ALLOWED AN INCOMPLETE INVESTIGATION, INUENDO, AND SPECULATION TO CONDEMN OUR UNIVERSITY!!!!

They probably shouldn't just be fired but also sued. At the very least they and ALL of them need to be held accountable.

I'm with you on all those counts, just wasn't sure if there was something else in particular to him you were referencing. I got it.
