  • just sheer incompetence all over this entire case

    PSU12

  • Seems to me it helps Curley and Schultz. Doubt becomes reasonable?

    Mjdm

  • I would say it helps them quite a bit. The key witness can't even get the date right.

Well, the main witness in the Curley/Schultz case is McQueary. McQueary said the incident happened right before spring break in 2002 and then he told Joe who told those two. If the incident happened in early February, this cannot possibly be the incident MM referred to as early February is nowhere near spring break. The case against those two is pretty fragile.

  • Prosecution fail. Did they also get the location wrong?

"in the evening at the Lasch Football Building"

Wasn't it in the East Area Locker Room?

Mike McQueary is a fool... He wasn't even close with this date. This could be real trouble for the prosecutions case for Curley/Schultz and Sandusky. It leads one to wonder what else the AG has missed or botched in this case...

  • Not surprising, considering the ineptness contained in each investigation.

  • Going from the very specific date of March 1, 2002 on a Friday before Spring Break to on or around Feb 9, 2001 is a ridiculous change in the timeline. How can you be off by an entire year and month? How can you recall it was the Friday before Spring Break when it was a month into the damn semester and a month before Spring Break of a totally different year? This charge was shaky enough without a defendant.

  • Simply incredible...are they even sure that they know this happened at all????

That's not how prosecutions work. You make as many charges as you can referencing as many high profile people as you can to push for a plea bargain.

  • This is so unfortunate for the victims. The fact that after all of this there is a chance for the entire case to crumble (that's just me getting ahead if myself) is just enfuriating.

On a selfish note I can't help but think that the more we hear of the inept police work and prosecution involved the less PSU's name will be dragged through the mud. It will be of no consultation, however, if Sandusky somehow walks (again getting ahead of myself).

As much as I would like to believe that, the more info that comes out of incompetence the more ESPiN will say that PSU is pulling the strings to make it look like incompetence. I realize that is a poor outlook on my part but this whole ordeal has me more jaded regarding the press than ever before.

  • WTF... How can they be 13 months off? It's not like we are talking about a week or so here... 13 months! You would think that all the time spent on the grand jury investigation they would at least get the date close.

If that MF'er goes free... WTF.

We need to prepare ourselves for the inevitable JS goes free. The case seems so ridiculously weak that I can't possibly see an impartial jury convicting him. Either way I hope he rots in hell.

doubt he goes free... but I bet he does not get a huge sentence... case is weak and has some odd parts

  • I know this isn't/hasn't been popular, but I said all along they had no case against him. They already punished him the best they could which was why the GJ report was leaked imo.

As long as the two most recent victims testify and can be found credible he will get time for those incidents. The others were thrown in as prosecutorial fluff, and unfortunately it is undermining the case as a whole. If he goes to prison, there is also a good chance he does not get back out since there is not much sympathy for child molesters in prison.

I just hope McQuery testifies so he can clarify exactly what he believes he saw and/or heard as well as who knew what when.

Well Big Red already testified that it was March 02. TESTIFIED. He clearly doesn't remember things,I don't know law but this seems like a big deal.

Now Curlees lawyers question about if big red remembered psu bball being in the big dance at the time makes sense. They already knew the prosecution was wrong about the date.

Any lawyers care to chime in on this? I'm curious how this affects the case as a whole.

    PSU17

  • At this point the case against Curley/Schultz lacks any credibility. Sandusky's case will depend on how much evidence they have regarding the other victims but this def. doesn't look good. I still think Sandusky pleads out but more b/c he'll run out of $ to see this through to the end.
