I don't mind UM at tO$U. It's beneficial to have at least one other division foe to be strong. Will keep us sharp, force us to keep up, and provide motivation. It's a great help to have someone push you to improve.

But I have no desire to see UW join them. It makes no sense. I'm starting to think we will very much keep up with this conference during probation.... with UM & OSU being the only programs definitely a step ahead of PSU. NU, MSU & UW are not going to run away from us.

I'm not even sure Michigan will be that great in the next couple of years. Ya they'll beat teams simply because they have more talent then them but IMO year 1 was a bit of a fluke for Hoke and co. and if they lose a couple in a row to O$U, Michigan might be looking for a new coach.

I'm also against Wisconsin hiring a good coach. PSU will need all the help it can get over the next few years and it will already be tough enough recruiting against Urban Meyer let alone a good Wisconsin. I hope the rest of the B1G sucks for the next couple of years and helps out PSU but we will see.

That's a stupid rule. I know it has it's place in certain situations but If Beleima left to take an NFL Job in late January they wouldn't have two weeks to spare before signing day. In this situation I think it's a cop out. But I'm probably wrong.

Not as bad as the new Florida law. I read somewhere that Jimbo Fisher could not offer his Pruitt (the new DC) a multi-year contract because a new state law limits severance packages for state employees to 20 months. If its accurate, imagine when the big boys coming calling for Muschamp or Fisher.

So do you have any insight on the Laws Beliema sighted that limited his assistants salaries. I tried some google research but came up with nothing. Wonder how they're limited.

**When googling something does anybody ever hit next page? Honestly can't remember last time I hit next in a google search. If it's not on the the first page it doesn't exist.

Yeah. I'll get right on breaking that down. Didn't RMJ go to Law School? Get him on the case.

Haha, I have next week off maybe (not likely) I will dive into what MTayl posted. I don't know the specifics, but I know Walker made some major reforms regarding public workers once he entered office.

Sadly, I work in a research heavy position so I go multiple pages into google search more than once or twice a day. banghead

    One of two educated guesses:

A.) its similar to Peterson in Boise, the state legislature must vote to increase salaries for state employees and the government has been dealing with so much gridlock that hasn't been a priority.

B.) They have a pay freeze on all public employees and can not raise coaches salaries due to that.

It also could be state budget issues, I don't handle the budget research for my organization so I don't know how Wisconsin is doing as a state.

    MTayl any insight?

Without diving into Wisconsin Law (I am not fluent in Canadian) I would guess you are right. That link has gateways to statutes and rules (or however they name them as each state is different) in there. I am guessing there is a cap on certain levels, and the asst. coaches fall at a certain level as defined by statute and the statute gives no exemptions. If they wanted to fix it, it would be a two line tech chance that would have to be introduced in all likelihood.

Did you see what our average rating was this year? It wasn't good at all. We had like the 27th best average rating.

Are you sure?? A quick google search came up with this. "Increases For Noon ET College Football on ESPN: Saturday’s Northwestern/Penn State college football game drew a 1.9 overnight rating on ESPN, up a whopping 217% from Minnesota/Purdue in the same slot last year (0.6)."..."From the no-surprise department, the Penn State season opener attracted a large television audience Saturday afternoon.

Saturday’s Ohio/Penn State college football game drew a 2.4 U.S. rating and 3.503 million viewers on ESPN, up 71% in ratings and 74% in viewership from Akron/Ohio State last year (1.4, 2.011M)."...
