Why no offer to Averett yet???

I watched his film last night and that kid can fly... He's a game changer... I liked his film better than Foster's... We need to get on him... IMO

This kid will get an offer. No doubt in my mind, unless we somehow fill up with other studs haha.

Averett doesn't "have" to play safety in college... He's got a ton of speed and play making ability... He can play WR... And I don't care if we have the #1 recruiting class in the country, this kid needs to be apart of this class... IMO

Rivals has 2 kids from Good Counsel in their top 37. Are we recruiting either one?

Recruiting yes, any real attempt, or chance, not seeming likely.
An aside to follow lol
I look at Good Counsel, Gateway in PA, Bosco in NJ, and schools of that nature mostly the same. Dont get caught up in the rankings of the kids. The school name gives a boost and also the coaches at these schools get to camps and know how to get a bump in rankings as well.
Kids are good, occasionally real real good, but you can find kids just as good, rated lower, elsewhere. IMO.

No he doesn't HAVE to play safety. But we will most likely be recruiting him there and many feel that is where his best potential lies. I like Averett a lot and 13 and I were just talking about him the other day.Hell, I started a thread just a few days ago that he was one of the featured athletes I wanted to get opinions on.

I agree somewhat. Film study is always necessary to form your opinion about a kid (although it is somewhat limited with HS kids)... But, Justin King was legit a monster, and this year the DE from Bosco is legit. His film is crazy. He is scary athletic on the edge... I hope we go after him.

Yeah. Muhammad. There is a play where they drop him into coverage and he makes a one handed pick, twisting backwards. And his first step is legit... And he has size and looks like he likes to lift weights... He is there for the taking... He is taking his sweet time with the process and supposedly is open... I know the other kid from Immaculata in NJ is blowing up and isn't really that high on us yet... We need speed rushers. Sickels is a good start though. We need 3 more in this class IMO... Also we have roughly the same number of offers out to DEs as we do DBs. And more of the DE offers are from the old staff than the DB offers. Both I would like to see a few more out to, that's a given. However LJ is being selective at this point and I feel we'll see some serious DB offers go out soon. DB is weird this year for some reason, targets yes, guys truly interested eehhh we'll see.

Really? I see it as a minimum of 3 DE's probably more like 4... Same with OT... A minimum of 2, more likely 3 (with Mahon being the beast on the interior)... We need outside rushers and with Oakman just booted off the squad and Royer switching (I know he was a LB, but he provided the option as an edge rusher IMO) we are thin at DE... I saw it as a 3 DE class before, but now def so, and with the possibility of taking 4... I agree on DT though, only one... Well, if thats the case, we need to "re-offer" Teller and others... DE and DB are two areas of concern for me moving forward from Ross and Sickels. Both are great to have in the fold early FOR SURE, but our options moving forward aren't plentiful- although I LOVE that Butler is visiting next weekend. We need to get on the ones that are interested hard and stay on. Great job there. But again, after Butler and maybe Hicks (who knows), there aren't many options. I'm just anxious to see who gets an offer at DE and DB moving forward, who visits, etc. Should be interesting. I will also be keeping my ear to the ground as to when Deeb will visit during the next couple of months. Love his film more and more the more I watch it lol

Where are you seeing that Kerner or Bars will be a DE? Serious question. I haven't heard anything of the sort... I am not trying to rationalize anything. If those 2 aren't making the switch and Wilkerson doesn't (and the staff swears he is a TE), we have 5 DE's moving forward... That isn't many. I think that if we get 3 in 2013 we will be in good shape (and we are off to a great start w Sickels), but if the opportunity is there to beef up the pass rush with a 4th, I think the staff does it.
