Texas and it is not even close in my mind..... They have a Tom of really good players but for how much that state self promotes Texas and their school system has 1 title in 40~ years....... OVER RATED!!!!!
Texas? Wow! I would've thought someone would say California if they would mention one of the big 3. Not saying its California but out of the big 3 that is the one who has fallen off a bit.
Speaking of Texas players spread across the country doing very well for out of state schools. I'm sure there's better players. But two that come to mind for me are Darron Thomas and is it LaMicheal James? Both from Texas did pretty well at Oregon.

Check out the U of T who hand picks the best in the state and how they have done and ask folks in Texas their opinion of said high school talent their arrogance alone makes them winners here in my opinion
I would take that as more of a knock against UT's coaching over the last however many years. The Big 3 are not the answer here. Maryland for some reason pops inmy head, besides the obvious one.

I'm not talking about any university, im talking about states as a whole. Look how many Texas natives have won the hiesman trophy. The number of first round NFL draft choices, tied for the most players in the pro football HOF!!!

Now you're talking about two different things. The NFL doesn't matter here, college football does. Its about winning games, bowls, and titles. And Texas talent does that an exceptional level.

Yeah I guess I am. Saying Texas was so outrageous, just had to give them credit where credit is due.

So false. Wow.
The high school title system is retarded. Texas 5A football is as good as it gets, and 4A is pretty damn good as well. There's a reason we always send 100+ kids to D1.

NJ is no where near overrated...especially the past 5-10 years.
MD produces some elite talent, but it is not that deep.
I really think PA, NC and SC are extremely overrated.
Let me just say NJ is a great state been there multiple times and enjoyed myself have no problem at all. Also love the fact that we get talent from there.
That said and you said past 5 to 10 years. Yes they have been coming on strong recently. But that has only happen recently they were not in the past a football power state. It is the most densely populated state in america. Like there coming on but are still no where close to states such as Cal, TX, Fla, Georgia , Ohio etc....
Just ask the southern schools fans how they feel about 5stars from NJ, mainly Myron Rolle and Will Hill. Again don't get me wrong if there are studs in that state the PSU has a legit chance with I definitely want them.

I say Pennsylvania if you are talking game changing stars. Many get rated such, many dont pan out.
Pennsylvania is underrated overall. GREAT state to fill your team out with with good solid football talent, and rarely do the services delve deep enough to see it in the 'stars'.
If we are talking individuals overrating a state, 2013 with VA hands down!

Folks I am not saying Texas is not a big 3 producer of CFB talent..... I am saying the hype their kids get and the intense focus is the greatest of any state hence they have the most over hyped / rated prospects
JMO
Texas is a good answer as far as having ground to stand on. But the reason I would go with is one you are not arguing(unless I missed it).
Texas HS football is played at an extremely high level. The coaching and programs are so good that kids often times go to such a high level with their skill, that they dont have very far to go after that. You can find a fine young prospect in a state that doesnt have that level of development with higher ceilings than many Texas players IMO. Texas players come ready to go earlier than many prospects across the country so if you need some quick depth fix, its a good place to go though.
