    We apologize for the site outage this morning. We had a database server issue this morning and obviously it took longer than we had anticipated to fix and get the site back up and running. We're just as frustrated as you when something like this happens and we appreciate your patience. We'll be reviewing the cause of the problem this morning and doing everything possible to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. Thanks again for your support.

    A quick explanation on today's outage:

    We were doing routine maintenance (patching servers and rebooting) this morning and we managed to corrupt some tables on our message board databases. We spent some time diagnosing an attempting to deal with the corruption, but most of the time was restoring every post from the beginning time across the network.

    Typically the patching process takes 20 minutes with no downtime. From now on, we'll change our patching schedule so that it starts at 12:01 am instead of 5:00 am every Tuesday.

I get a 2-5 second delay while the ads load on the message board, and it seems like quite a bit of lagginess in general. Could it be overworked servers, or a problem on my end? I'm using IE, but everything on every other site I visit is quick and problem free??

    I use Google Chrome for browsing with an Adblock Plus extension. Removes the ads.

    I do remember having a little lag at times before using Adblock Plus, but now it loads extremely fast. I'd highly recommend using some sort of ad blocker, sounds like that would help your issue. JMO.

    At school when I'm stuck with IE, I have the same problems. With firefox in my apartment, I have 0 issues.
