There is a middle ground as you can make statements like that ahead of time and then say oooops I was wrong later. Plenty of homerun hires have bombed in places and plenty of less than stellar hires have excelled. I don't think you'll have to worry as we wouldn't be waiting until the 3rd for Clements IMO. The timing of this one along with the secrecy points to MM....so we'll just have to hope that homerun really works out that way. I don't think anyone would say they prefer Clements, but you really can't all him a ZERO or failure unless he gets the job and falls on his face. Being Rodgers QB coach right now has some merit and will raise some eyebrows. I get your point, but black and white posts tend to bore me after a while.

I like Clements and my post has zero to do with his resume. If you check out the comments sections of the articles when Clements is named the reaction is "who would want that toxic job?" "Penn State should end the program" "child rape U is done" all comments I have read..... Clements would fuel the hype of no one "worth" it wanting the job. It would only heighten the sense of failure and make an uphill climb even harder. I like Clements want his as the OC with Mike. We need some pop with this hire to change the media narrative of our demise. It has nothing to do with the quality of coach all with the sizzle. If the scandal doesn't happen then it doesn't matter if we a smaller name. Thing is we are over our heads in scandal. We need someone with serious credentials. Munchak is that man.

Well if reports are right it's a home run or we struck out
