We can take comfort in this...

  • At least we're not Pitt. Nuff said.

  • So our new chant is "WE ARE!" ... "NOT PITT!" ?

Did Erickson apologize for us not being Pitt yet?

  • Doesn't Pitt actually have a F@#K PSU chant that they do even when not playing us?

They do......maybe its time for them to start worrying the product they put on the field rather than us...

Temple has one as well. They did it last week when they played Nova.

  • I spent 4 years in Pittsburgh and love the pro teams and the city. Pitt fans are however still living in the glory days of the 70-80's. I was there in the Walt Harris years and my company had season tix in a box for both Steelers/Pitt games. I routinely attended 4-5 Steeler games a year with customers but for my best efforts coul only get people to attend maybe one Pitt game. They have horrible attendance. They are some of the worst college fans when it comes to dementia and it spills over to the Pirates. Before the season it's always their year until after the first game or two.

Maybe it's just me, but being not Pitt does not help me feel better. Not one bit.

  • I have lived in Pgh. my entire 60 years (expect for by PSU years.) ~itt grads are just "different." My 2 cents. They don't have any where near the school loyalty as PSU or other "campus style" schools do. Thus the sport fans are bandwagon jumpers. In football the fan base was terrible until Johnny Majors built the winner in the 70s. Then many Pittsburghers (not necessarily ~itt grads) because huge fans! When the football team loses the fans leave.
Same thing happened in hoops when Howland and Dixon built a strong team. Many blue collar Pittsburghers who didn't know a basketball from a bratwurst jumped on the bandwagon and acted like they have been life long fans. Give me a break!
Of course the same thing happened with the Stillers in the early 70s.

Zombie nation - replace the "We are" part with "____ you" then Penn State.

Is 300 people really enough to do a chant?

Oh....you're counting the staff workers at the game too?

  • I wasn't at the PSU Temple game last year but one of my friends that did attend said Temple students were wearing "Fock You PSU" kind of funny never knew they had it in them.

I realize this is meant as a jab at Pitt, our natural rival, but you know what, I'd bet my house that they have a similar post up on the Lair. "At least we're not Ped State" or some variant. It used to be "State Penn", but now they have juicier variants to work with. I don't go to that cesspool even to look, but its almost a lock.

So can we give the "we're not Pitt" a rest. It certainly doesn't help us, and you just lowered yourself to their level.

Don't feed their trolls. Ignore the program in hopes that it just goes away. Because you know what happens when you get too close to the monkeys at the zoo? They throw poop at you.

    Just saying.

There is no way to lower yourself to that level... I guess there may be, but it would be real hard.

Normally I would agree with you but in this case it's a different story. Pitt fans literally got pleasure out of the fact that young boys were assaulted on PSU's campus and as a result the school got punished. They rejoiced when JoePa got fired and then passed away. They cheered when the NCAA sanctioned the innocent players and coaches at Penn State b/c they thought it would help their pathetic football program. In any other case I would say let them alone to wallow in their own misery but in this case I will revel in each blowout loss that is inflicted on them as their coach stands on the sideline with that glazed-over dumbfounded look on his face and the few remaining fans come to the realization that they are and will always be little sister and an irrelevant 3rd tier football program. WE ARE...!!!

Well said jayer.....I live in Pittsburgh (PSU grad) but every pre-season I hear from the bandwagon pitt fans (we should win 10 or 11 games), as soon as the 1st loss of the year occurs, it's always "oh well, the steelers start next week".

  • Pitt sucking gives makes me chuckle, but that's about it. Doesn't make me feel better about our team. Pitt fans seem to be obsessed with PSU. It's almost like a cult, a cult of hating Penn State. I mean who does a chant about a school your not even playing?
