Has it occured to you that OBJECTIVE people without ties to PSU or KSU may be voting? Not sure what having the largest alumni base in the country and the COTY have in common. Snyder is the COTY, and it's not close.

Yes, Snyder is a great coach and doing a great job... But not this year. This is BOB's award lol Homer yes, but the man deserves it. We need to get as many in Nittany Nation to make sure that the award is his and that he's recognized at the end of the year for the kick ass job we all know he's doing. Snyder can get second, and that would be awesome, but we need this more than KSU IMO. BOB deserves it more too. Again, that's homerish of me, but I dont care lol And I respect the hell out of Snyder, but I'd still love it if Waters picked us. Again, I get it, but I'm all in with this program.

This award has NOTHING to do with the "winningest" coach! Just because Snyder's team is doing well...and not to take anything away from him...it is the SIGNIFICANT uphill climb that O'Brien was faced with...and the fact that he handled it with ethics, courage and dignity that I believe he wins this award HANDS DOWN.

The COTY site states it this way:

Fan voting will decide the top 15 coaches from each division who will qualify for our objective scoring model endorsed by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. The model will produce ten finalists from Division I-FBS and five finalist coaches from each of the three other divisions, based on the criteria below.
SPORTSMANSHIP
The best coaches conduct themselves in an honorable way on and off the field. By treating their players, opposing coaches and the media with respect, they set an example for everyone to follow.
INTEGRITY
Integrity means knowing how to win the right way. The best coaches refuse to bend or break the rules to keep their teams on top and require the same from their players.
RESPONSIBILITY
Coaches aren’t just leaders of their team, but also leaders in their community. They give back to their schools and communities that cheer on their teams every week.

Wins and losses aren’t the only measure of excellence. It’s also about encouraging student-athletes to excel in the classroom so they be successful in anything they pursue when their playing days are done.

I think it's close, and it's probably the homer in me talking, but I'd say BOB deserves it. OSU wasn't very good last year, but he's still got a 5* QB to work with. What would Urban be doing if McGloin was his best QB option?
