Watching ESPN/ESPN News (Why I dont know, but)

Im getting the sense that a lot of the media did not expect the penalties to be this harsh. I think they are double taking with their earlier remarks and are kind of backing up the PSU faithful.

As was obviously going to be the case once something happened. They're doing the Steve Urkel, "Did I do thaaat?" Their hands are as bloody as any for this punishment.

pointing the finger is all fun and games until peoples lives are affected.. can't imagine what current students, employees, professors, etc. are thinking or those businesses that thrive off football weekends..

Jay Bilas was especially critical of Emmert and the NCAA. Seems like Reece Davis also did not agree with some of it.

This was a very public move by the NCAA. There isn't going to be any other retired pedophiles doing this anytime soon, if ever. This was all a show for the public..in essence this was a public hanging. This was nothing more than Emmert and the NCAA using the big stick when they had the chance to. Cheaters will continue to cheat and get slaps on the wrist. Sandusky is in jail for life, others facing charges, Joe is dead, but he really showed who is boss.

It's a true statement. There will be another major scandal like this (maybe not entailing child abuse) but something that is "covered up" by a University/entire athletic department to benefit the likes of a thriving football program.

BTN had fan reaction from the HUB. They stuck the microphone in the face of a prospective student and asked something like "with football such a big part of the culture here, would this affect you decision to come to Penn State?"
The kids reaction? No, it maes me want to come to Penn State more now because everyone is so great.

I wish someone had sound-bites from earlier when each of the ESPN Media people were calling for this so it could be played back to them.
Golic was condemning the school and wishing for it to be bulldozed lest we advocate child rape. Now he's yelling from the mountains how horrid this is and how it's beyond the reach of the NCAA.
