I am a relative new-comer to this stuff. Forgive me for this question, but what is the difference between a run-on and walk-on? Don't beat me up too bad!

Good story - always great seeing us getting run-ons. Anyone see him play?
I wonder how many run-ons we will take this year? Would be nice to get a couple LB run-on's.

nothing - just O'Brien likes to call them a run-on because they run on to the field and have hustle.

Nothing. It is BOB's term because with low scholarships the guys that choose to walk-on can't walk, they'll have to hit the ground running and keep up.

BOB calls them run-ons, because when Craig Fitzgerald is done with them they'll look like Arnold.

And if it doesn't work out on offense, he's got safety size and the attitude of someone who likes to hit. Fagnano, Keiser, Della Valle - lots of walk ons getting a crack at DB recently.
Did he have any FBS offers? Where was he likely to land if O'Brien didn't take a shine to him?

maybe bill can use him like a wes welker (not comparing to), short quick ones, with a lot of YAC. bill is definitely looking for a shifty option to compliment the tight end game. and the kid sounds tough.

your answer was located in the article...Walker had taken them up on their offer to join the program beginning in the summer as a 'run-on,' O'Brien's version of a preferred walk-on.

I've seen him play and he is an absolute warrior. Ferocious. On offense or defense. Also very quick. I remember at a junior combine in the philly area in I think the Spring he was a top performer. Great shuttle run.

great to have - we will need many more players like him. I assume we will have a roster of 110 still and with 65 scholarship players that leaves 45 run-ons that we need?
