Wacky Dogs - Week 7 Results (link)

  • Here are the standings.

We have 2 major streakers in Ramblewood and Derock. Both going for 6 in a row this week.

  • Thank you for all the work in doing this, as it has been fun. And I want to know about the crystal ball that those two are keeping from the rest of us.

well, when you have a streak going you can take essentially a coin flip game, and just rack up the bonus points that come with a correct pick.

  • Well, this may be my fifteen minutes of fame (since I'm crushing everyone ... okay, okay, Derock being only one point behind is at least within striking range biggrin), so I'm going to partake in the bragging, taunting, and ribbing part of the game while I can.

Now, white_out is correct about his coin flip analogy, but just remember the chances of picking a coin flip correctly five times in a row is about 3%. So, that crystal ball comparison may not be as far off as you think. whistling

Derock . . . unfortunately . . . I'm rooting for you this week as you had to go and pick PSU. grumble

Hahah, I'm with you on this one. Considering I didn't participate in this the first week, I'm pretty amazed by the streak I have going on. Sorry for picking PSU this weekend. Normally I like to pick a team in the 3.5-6 point range so its worth a little extra but still a relatively close game, but I didn't like the matchups in that group this week so I went with PSU. At this point, keeping the streak alive is more important then taking a chance on some bigger point spread. Coming off the bye week with Iowa w/out Weisman, figured it was my best chance haha.

Also, whiteout just wanted to say thanks for throwing this all together every week. I'm especially enjoying it since I've been doing well, but I feel like this is a lot of fun each week even when you don't pick a winner. Cool game for sure!

I have been using the same type of strategy. I didn't like any of the mid-range upsets this week either. There were a couple of long shots I might have taken if I didn't have the streak going (Iowa State, Baylor), but went with a safer coin flip game. I think PSU will cover, but didn't want the double whammy if they happen to lose and not cover . . . makes for a grumpy Sunday.

Shout out to white_out as well . . . even if he is falling farther and farther behind each week. sinking

  • Ditto the props tp white-out for the efforts of this venture. I am the (lack of) brains behind my companies football polls, FFL, etc., so I can appreciate the fruits of his labor.
I don't know which is more of a random crap shoot...the dogs pick or trying to find rhyme or reason behind my bonus answers.

In any event congrats to our leaders, and may the second half of the season find you searching for karma to continue your reigns as top dogs....
