Wow - just wow. As everyone else has said, if true, what a complete j*ck*ss this coach is for telling it to the papers, and what a total letdown - not because I don't think RS can be replaced, or that he's THAT talented, but because of the serious blow to momentum, and total turn-around by a guy who seemed all PSU all the way. HAck and AB have to be in total "WTF" mode right now, like the rest of us. Does sound like this coach has s serious anti-PSU lean...

As someone said what does not make sense is he wanted to commit to PSU twice, but his coach told him to hold off, but is rushed to tell the world he is going to UNC right after a visit without giving his mother a chance to see the real PSU, not some media manufactured sensationalism.

That is in the kids best interests?

Wow - very suprising to say the least. He is going to get a great education, so kudos to him for that at the very least.

I really have to think we have Sandusky to thank for this one.

I think the quotes in that article by the kid himself would be trusted enough. Its a shame as things seemed to turn on their head so quickly but we'll have to move on from this and hope it was simply a young man making a decision for himself and not one affected by something else out there we do not know about.

"I know where I want to go. It's nice to know. I was talking to Coach Fedora last night, and I told him that I was speechless. I think that's when I knew I made the right decision."

This part was particularly rich:

North Carolina was placed on NCAA probation on March 12 for numerous violations stemming from the regime of former Coach Butch Davis. The Tar Heels are banned from the 2012 postseason, and will spend the next three years on probation. UNC has 15 fewer scholarships to award in the next three seasons.

One of the remaining scholarships will go to Switzer, which the state's top player said strengthened his commitment to the school.

"I think that makes the scholarship more valuable. They don't have time to mess around. They've got to get the best players they can get," Switzer said. "They're reducing five a year, so they don't have scholarships to waste, so to speak.

Some quotes from him here if anyone's interested. Not exactly sound logic behind the decision if you ask me, but obviously there was more in play here than just football. Whatever.

There is not a "5'9 170 slot guy" in the last 5 years with film like that.
Switzer is an outstanding football player and his quickness and agility is simply phenomenal even for "quick slot guys."
