There was more at play here than what meets the eye!! A governor may fall, a BOT group will fall, a former DA gone missing, and an administrative cover-up. When this all plays out I think Joe and McQueary will look very admirable (they already do in my eyes).

And what do you define as "involved." There is one man accused of heinous crimes against boys. There are two men accused of lying to a Grand Jury and failure to report. These people would be "involved." There is a former coach "witness." There is a deceased head coach who was the secondary confidant and boss of said witness. You are saying that they are involved.
There is a DA who is missing. There are the police that investigated in 1998 and heard the accused say that he'd rather be dead. There is the mother of the 1998 victim who confronted the accused, but never said another word about it. There is the janitor who witnessed a shower incident but didn't come forward. There is the janitor's boss who was the janitor's confidant and didn't come forward. There was the wrestling coach at the high school that witnessed the accused with a boy on the ground. There is the principal of the high school whom the wrestling coach confided in and later got the school system and police involved. There was the AG that was running for Governor whom appointed on trooper to investigate the case. There is the narcotics officer in the state police's office who discovered phone records linking the accused and a plausible victim. There is every single individual who testified before the Grand Jury over a 2 year period. There are the lawyers and directors involved with the 2nd mile charity that were briefed at numerous times that incidents had occurred or investigations were under way yet put no halt to the involvement of the accused in fundraising, participating, etc. for the charity. There are the 1000's of individuals who saw, or met , or interacted with the accused while he was allegedly committing these heinous acts against boys that said nothing or didn't see it in the glint in his eyes or couldn't spot a child molester like we all should be able to do. There were 1000's of people that live in Pennsylvania and/or are a PSU fan that placed the accused up on a pedestal for his great work with kids and his defensive genius... that he should have been the next head coach at PSU and the dark years never would have happened.
They were all involved.
All the info will never come out... because most of it is in people's brains, their "hind sight," their second guessing what they might of been able to do.
But if you think that you can blame one or two people for this whole alleged mess... than you don't know this situation very well.
If the suits covered it up... then send them to jail. But to find a scapegoat like Joe Paterno for this is absurd.

I'm saying that MM, Joe, the BOT and Corbit should all be gone as well as Curley, Schulz and Spanier.
Joe is no scapegoat.
The only people who don't know the situation very well are those that think Joe is completely innocent and without blame and those who think Joe is worthy of all the blame.

PM me if you must, but I'm dying to hear this information that invalidates the information that Joe took MM to Curley and Schulz (sp?) for him (MM) to tell his story.

You mean the meeting that took place 9 days later? After Joe sat on the info for a while cause he "didn't want to ruin someone's weekend"? If you think that doing that was enough then so be it. Myself and others disagree. I've told you your answer numerous times.

I thought the testimony indicated Paterno placed the call to Curly on the Monday after the incident (and the incident was on Friday or Saturday)? Where does this nine day thing come from?

The 9 days later is when the actual meeting took place.
Why did it wait over the weekend? Was this not an important situation that demanded immediate action??
Why not take instant action. Take MM to police (even if just campus) of to Spanier, Curley or Schulz right away?

Fair question. My guess, and it's because I would have felt the same way before this scandal, is because the reality of the incident for someone who has never had any experience with such things is difficult to comprehend. In other words, he didn't get it. He, as I would have, probably spent all day Sunday trying to understand what he just heard, and how serious it was.
Why do YOU think Joe waited until Monday to place the call, rather than call on Sunday? Do you think Joe for a day (Sunday) wanted to cover it up, but then on Monday woke up and all of a sudden changed his mind? Your anger (**** needed to be fired!) seems to indicate you think Joe did something malicious, or intentionally negligent. I don't see that. He might have made an incorrect decision to call on Monday rather than Sunday, but I just don't see the malice or intentional negligence.

I'll leave everyone to their own opinions on the morality of everyone's actions or lack of actions. But please don't leave out or distort facts to further arguments.
Paterno called Curley the next day (Sunday) and told him. People can decide for themselves if 24 hours was too long to wait, but please don't thrown around the 9 days like that's how long he took to decide what to do.
