WAYNE MORGAN

  • Re Robinson: I didn't get to watch much film then because I was still watching some for the team as I was helping out my coaches post grad cus they had a lot of assistants leave. That being said he's a tall rangy receiver, I wasn't surprised he surprised this year.

I guess I should warn you, if I turn out to be particularly clear, you've probably misunderstood what I've said.

I don't know what that means, but if sneaky doesn't like it its worth a +1

    MTayl72

  • hha yep.

BTW, I think we were both right on thinking Boyd not have an offer without Moore.

Oh for sure. And as soon as Moore said I am good, suddenly Boyds visit fell through. Not at all a coincidence. And I'm fine with that, I'd take Schwann 2-3x over before Boyd.

Ya I can live with Schwann. Boyd just didnt make any sense at all.

  • I think Morgan is a pretty good player. And we be a much bigger pick up than Luchas and the other players we've picked up. I really would love to get this kid. He's got good speed and quickness.

Definitely. I'd choose DC over Morgan every day.

Without a doubt. I was hoping we would have room for both but if it's an either/or situation Cox is the one to get.

Yes. But I would rather get Morgan than Schwan. The need for a good corner is greater than a need for an average DE

DE>>Corner. At least in the college game.

I'm pleased we aren't going to pursue Boyd. He would classify as a reach in my book. If you are going to sign another DB in this class I much prefer Morgan to Boyd.

Especiially cus I don't think Morgan can stick at CB.

And its the same in the pro game.

yeah but there is no need for another DE, we are pretty strong @ that posistion

What do you mean in that, your predicting he won't be good. I don't really get what your saying

Agree..but its closer to even in the program.

    After QB,

the debate is up for second most important position. LT>>DE>>CB is how I rank them.

Wait, do you guys think he's going to be a bad CB, or switch positions

I mean he looks like he will be playing safety down the road, even at his height. His athletic toolbox says safety, not CB. Not saying if he will be good or not.

    MTayl72

  • I would gladly take him at this point, but he isnt anything to write home about. I mean, look at who he's deciding between. Even Rutgers backed off of him.

Some people don't believe he can stay at corner. He does look stiff and maybe more of a straight line guy. His highlight video isn't very good quality. It's hard to say but I haven't written him off as a corner at this level. 5'9 180 aren't great measurables for a safety.

If we had legitimate Big Ten corners on this team I'd agree. But do we really think Morgan wouldn't be as good as Jake Kiley? Morgan would be an ok pickup in normal years, but would be a HUGE pickup this year no matter if he ends up at corner or safety.

You won't get a disagreement from me. With the current state of the depth chart I too would like him to be part of this class.

He had a Michigan offer in June and Hoke pressured him to commit. He was very close to doing so, but those close to him wanted him to stay closer to home so he backed off. Since then, he struggled at camps and his rankings plummetted. That said, he'd be a solid pick-up for us at this point, particularly at safety (if i remember correctly he was struggling at corner and was thougbt to be better suited for safety)

Yeah Michigan wanted him bad early on then cooled on him later in the year. Kid did not have a good sr year but i still think he would be a great pick up for PSU. Has good size and is fast i like him & wish Michigan would have got him but oh well. Good luck to u guys with him.

Unless you're Ray Isom. Ask Michael Irvin. stretcher
