I know most posters when talking about OSU, Mich, etc like to make it VIP so that a civil conversation can go on without trolls from those schools being able to read about what's being said. However, I will say VIP was worth it with just the previous staff and now with the addition of Cory its WAY worth it.

Well, FJP, most of the time it's to keep you specifically out of the thread.

Actually, like Seltz said (though you can't see it), generally it's to keep trolls from other boards out. Also just to make sure we don't discuss VIP info accidentally.

In general, I think you could essentially say it's for the cool club. We do pay for it, so we like to keep it within the group.

You actually have the worst of all worlds IMO. If it weren't for the VIP info provided by Sean, Andrew, Jeff, and now Corine, I would not be a paying member (or even be here). Though the posters are quality, I cannot stand the requirement to view the board in "topic view," and/or the apparent requirement that anything even tangentially related to an already-existing "topic," regardless of how broad, must go in that thread, or the new thread gets locked and dropped. PITA.

Buk, you make enough money to shell out for VIP. I know its not like its going to some social welfare program that you love so much.

Thank you. And if you were ever an active user of thread view (BWI), you too would understand that my conviction is not misplaced. Those of us who use, or have used, thread view (and use it the way it's supposed to be used -- i.e. using the subject line appropriately) understand it is far superior in efficiency, usability, and encouraging participation. :-)
