Urban Meyer = Hypocrite

... and if urban wasn't your coach how would you be acting right now?

Maybe someone should find the Sharrif Floyd dream threads back in the day.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

I know "I" won't be going after other programs and fan bases.

We know you won't go after other programs and fan bases, you waste all your breath complaining about PSU. Now, if all the PSU fans on this site stopped posting, such that you no longer had something to reply to with a "haha hypocrit Joe sucked PSU sucks" response, then I would fully expect you to start eying up other programs.

You must be shocked at how good of friends Joe was of such a man and even talked highly of him.

As lowly as u thought of Joe im surprised you even bothered to make that smartass comparison.

We are all shocked that you jump in yet another thread to try to bring down our coaching legend and our fanbase. I have to wonder how highly you think of yourself that you would appoint yourself arbiter of how PSU fans should think of themselves as compared to other fanbases.

Do you do the same with your family and friends? Constantly reminding them that they are no better than any other family and friends? Taking others side when those close to you complain of unfair treatment? Just wondering if it is a pattern.

Or is this just some crusade you feel compelled to undertake in order to keep Nittany Lion fans grounded? Many of us (seemingly not you) come here to talk with others about how "We Are". We love Penn State football and we, not unlike anyone who has chosen a side throughout history, believe our cause to be just; more just than many others we would compare ourselves to.

I have to ask what makes you feel so differently that you would stand amongst us while constantly trying to tear down what we value?

I already understand from your posts that you are smart and realistic while those who love Joe and the Grand Experiment are blind and dumb. I get that. Rather i am simply asking what is your motive for spouting the same stale and repetitive message every time you see someone express their admiration for our deceased coach or the values of our program? I just want to understand why someone would be this driven and committed to doing this.

There's been no Grand Experiment since the 80's. Did the "Grand Experiment" include putting your family above the program with the hiring of an incompetent son and continuous promotions? Did it include telling a fan base to lower their standards? How about staying and earning a paycheck while not able to perform all the necessary functions required to do your job? Joe was a good man and good coach, he is far from the deity that many make him out to be. We admit kids who can play football who otherwise wouldn't sniff PSU. That doesn't sound like "Grand Experiment" to me.

Forgive me for caring more about fixing the ills of PSU before I worry about what's going wrong with other rograms. Urban Meyer being an ass doesn't make me feel better about all the wrongs at PSU. If you'd rather focus on other schools problems then so be it.

It's impossible to keep Nittany Lions grounded.

Try to fathom the hypocrisy of a Government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured .but not prove they're a citizen

I didn't ask you about your all too familiar thoughts on the grand experiment (i hope you just cut and paste at this point) nor did I focus on other schools problems. I simply asked about your motives. Maybe you have no idea.

I get that tearing down other schools doesn't make us any better (although it sometimes it makes us feel better). But explain how tearing down what most fans value, denegrating Joe Paterno's legacy and taking pot shots at the entire fan base like the last sentence in your post will "fix the ills of PSU" that you so care about. You do realize you are doing the exact same thing as those who rip on UM only from a different angle?

What is sneakypete's grand experiment? That might finally make one of your posts worthy of reading and discussing.

Wow. You know nothing about what the Grand Experiment truly was.
It wasn't "I can win with a bunch of kids who had a 3.5+ GPA in high school." It was about putting just as much emphasis in the classroom at PSU as on the football field. Instead of just worrying about winning games and the players just passing by with minimal effort in easy classes.
Whether it was a kid who was valedictorian in HS, or a kid who worked his butt off and struggled just to meet NCAA qualifications for an athletic scholarship, the mission was the same: That Joe and staff would make it their goal that each kid did their very best in academics and get a degree that they could use later in life, and they wouldn't compromise that just because a kid might be an All-American. The Grand Experiment was about discipline, and effort in the classroom to get a degree - an effort that was not to be sacrificed if it conflicted with winning on the football field.

Look at a kid like Jamil Pollard. By your standards of the Grand Experiment, we should've never even offered the kid because "he otherwise would've never sniffed PSU." Yet PSU's offer and insistence of him playing here only if his grades were up to par is the reason he worked hard, improved his grades and has grown as a person because of it. And Pollard, in his commitment to his grades and his commitment to PSU in it's darkest hour has done more to help the PSU community than some arrogant, judgmental tool on a message board criticizing Joe and everything about PSU fans ever will.
You know absolutely nothing about the Grand Experiment, it's mission, or it's accomplishments.
    You truly are an ass.
    Off to work. Good day.
