IMO, Question number 6 is the most difficult of these questions. Seems like we have nobody on scholarship for that position. It will be fun though to see who gets put out there and what they can do, but I expect our pass defense to get shredded almost as bad as it did in the TicketCity Bowl. Although hey Amos was the last guy committed from his class and has made the biggest impact so far. Maybe his Calvert Hall teammates can step it up, or possibly Jordan Lucas.

1) Obvious one here, can they find good QB play this year? Forget the number under center, can someone execute this offense and put up points without giving them away????
2) Kind of goes hand in hand with #1, but can the new staff really add a spark to the PSU offense?
3) Is this the year our outside pass rush returns? Stanley, Pete M., Barnes, CJO....anyone? Will PSU be effective off the edge this year?
4) How do the new pieces to the OL step in? Will coach MAC make that big an impact in such a short time?
5) Who is going to step up and make plays out wide (TE as well)?
6) Will we have a full secondary and how effective will it be?

1. Not yet. 2. They will try, but it's going to take more time than one offseason. I think we'll be pleased with the general framework of the scheme, even if it isn't executed perfectly yet. 3. We'll see improvement, but I'm not sure if one specific individual will emerge as 'the guy'. I still think it will be a committee approach in 2012. 4. They'll be better than last year, and decent overall. 5. Like the DE's, I still see a committee approach. Of the guys who could be a big play threat, I'll say Robinson, Kenney, and perhaps Lewis are most likely. But, I don't think any member of the group will be a stand-out performer. 6. No. First four are good...one significant injury or academic casualty and we're in enormous trouble.

1. No, not this year or at least not until 5-6 games into the season. Bolden and McGloin showed the same issues in the spring as they always have and PJ is just too inexperience right now. Maybe after a few games he could become more in the flow.
2. Not this year, no QB means teams will crowd the line and right now there is no consistant deep threat. Brown is a good possesion receiver but without deep speed, Smith drops to many balls and falls down too much.
3. Not this year but next year. Massaro is coming off his second ACL and from watching Hayes come back from his second showed how much explossion is lost with those types of injuries, fear the same with Mauti. Barnes and CJO just don't have the reps to make an impact yet, but in 2013 maybe. Stanley is good but not great and not having Still to demand double teams will have an effect.
4. The will be ok but far from special. They are just to inexpereinced. It takes time to jell and get up to game speed and with four new starters, only one who has see significant game time, it will show. The struggled against a base defense in the BW game what happens with numerous looks from opponents?
5. Hopefully Robinson, too much to ask of TEs. Gilliam missed 18 months and James is a TR FR, not fair to expect much this yeare from them.
6. Who knows? Do we have four players who could start? Is there a fifth to play nickle? The secondary is beyond scary, and not in a good way.
It is going to be a long year. There just isn't the talent to be that good, hopefully we can surprise some teams but I fear something similar to 2000/2001, but not 2003-04 bad.
