In response to an email I sent encouraging his support for PA against the NCAA sanctions. Did I miss so ethibg or is he on our BOT, smh.
Thank you for contacting me about Penn State University. I appreciate hearing from you. I understand your concerns regarding the sanctions levied by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) against Penn State and value your input on this issue. Although these penalties will never fully repair the unconscionable damage inflicted on the victims of the Sandusky scandal and their families, I believe they represent an important step toward establishing accountability and reform. Now that the NCAA has rendered its decision, I hope that the Penn State community can begin to move forward and the victims can continue on the road to healing. Since the sanctions were handed down, I also have spoken with Penn State President Rodney Erickson about this matter and will continue helping the university move forward. In spite of this incident, I am confident that Penn State will remain a world-class university and an important institution for all Pennsylvanians. As you have noted, on January 2, 2013 Governor Corbett filed a lawsuit against the NCAA, arguing that the NCAA violated antitrust laws by imposing these sanctions on Penn State in connection with the Sandusky scandal. The case, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, is currently pending before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. While I do not want to comment on pending litigation before the courts, I do believe that the funds obtained from Penn State via NCAA sanctions should be used to help people right here in Pennsylvania. Thank you again for your correspondence. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of assistance. Sincerely,
Pat Toomey U.S. Senator, Pennsylvania

I get so sick and tired of the "Move forward" comment. It would be like if my boss fired me, and then said "I know this is unjust and i understand you are upset, but just keep moving forward and the pain and suffering will go away in time."
If something happens that is unjust to you, you move forward by fighting for what is right.

Time to email back one more time telling him that "you respect his opinion, but you feel it is time for you to move forward with your vote to whomever opposes him in his next election cycle and will encourage other Penn State alums to do so as well. "

Seems like a bad reason not to vote for someone. Corbett is a different case as he was very involved in what happened, then blasted psu, then pulled a 180 to save face. Toomey just gave a canned response that is riddled with political speak. I'm not a Republican, so I can't say I care for Toomey all that much, but IMO this is not a great reason to vote against the guy.
