We go to the opener every year, and it's nearly always a noon kickoff. It gives us more time to spend on campus in the afternoon, which is nice, but it makes it harder to actually get to the game on time.
This year, my daughter will have just started her freshman year, so we'll have plenty to do with her that afternoon and evening. I am good with the noon kickoff.

Little recommendation though, just meet her after the game or at half time. My parents made the mistake of trying to meet for breakfast before.

I second that.
It's going to be a total warzone that morning with kids trying to go to the dining commons to eat breakfast or go downtown with their new friends and the whole bit.

Dude it's a 10am kickoff for me, and I LOVE that. Very little of that time you waste between waking up and kickoff, and the game is over at 1pm -- So you have the whole afternoon to do something else with your life.
9am on a Saturday... You can wake up, roll over, hit the "on" button on your remote, and there is kickoff. Nothing better.

No worries. We barely get to the game on time every year....no silly attempts to do anything beforehand. I have been to enough games to know.
Thanks for the congrats! She's a twin....her sister will be going to Northwestern. At least it's not Ohio State or Michigan!
