Not to mention WR is our deepest position and one where true freshmen likely can step up and get some reps..

  • Sounds like there are a lot of BOT's as members here....

Let's let BOB gather all the facts and then act accordingly - I am sure he will do what's necessary based on the facts - not speculation of what might have been happening and who might have been doing it..

Crawford was sort of like Mo Evans ... one HUGE year and you expected him to go from there and become more dominant. Both regressed big time after those huge seasons.

When did Crawford have a big year? He had a decent sophomore year, but nothing anywhere near what Evans did.

Bottom line ... they had their career years early and failed to do anything of note afterwards.

Actually, it sounds like they were SELLING weed and other drugs. A much worse crime.

^^^^^^^ don't need a scale to smoke it smoke

That looks like a "for-profit" organization to me.

(and the comment about tripping over a line other than the 35 or 40 = excellent)

Goodbye to both of them if this can be confirmed that they were both involved in selling drugs. Seriously... what the hell is wrong with people (not just "kids these days")... if you're in college, it's called DELAYED GRATIFICATION. You get to be poor and struggle like the rest.... then reap the benefits afterward. It builds character, it teaches self-restraint.... nevermind....

They can start a flag football game with Oakman...

  • I really long for the day that marijuana is legal.

So stupid that kids can go out and get blasted without repercussion but can't smoke a blunt.

The day it does I'm opening up a 24x7 grease-truck that drives up and down frat row like an adult ice-cream man

Instead of cheesy ice cream music, you can blast dre or cypress hill. That would be awesome.

And I can think of one major reason: driving while intoxication, and more specifically the testing of intoxication. Both to reprimand and protect users of marijuana, of which I am not one of.

FJP, thatd be a great idea.

Tbh I originally loved the idea when I saw it on Shameless.

  • FWIW, not sure if it was mentioned, but Devon Smith practiced today. I know BoB mentioned that a decision had not yet been made and he was gathering info, but Smith definitely practiced.

If we only recruited kids that actually belonged in college

If the rest of the BCS did the same

    Well you get the idea

And how would you set up the criteria for what kids you believed "Belonged in college"? Especially considering the limited amount of time coaches have in contact with these kids. And make no mistake about it they are kids. Often being recruited at 16 years of age or younger.

    So I ask you...

Do you eliminate kids that came from poor environments?

How about kids that struggled slightly in school or unfortunately came from a schooling area that wasnt on par with the rest of the country?

I think its pretty ridiculous to sit on a high perch after the fact and talk about how bad these kids are when you have limited information about them and a limited amount of time to evaluate their character. Unless they are sitting on a criminal record, just about any kid can look the part of a good kid, and I'm sure most of them are good kids.

A kid that strays or goes wrong can come from any background and can come from any class of wealth.

Every one of these kids are gambles.

    The Heel

  • Still NO CHARGES filed. So who else rooms with Crawford and Smith? The no charges filed yet, together with the fact that moo moo is practicing leads me to believe that this "incident" is a lot of media hypy base on the fact that two PSU athletes share an apartment where drugs and paraphernalia were "seized". Like others have inclinated, who else shared the apt. with them?

Easy, you don't make any exceptions for grades and/or do not allow them to notify admissions counselors that they are interested in varsity athletics. You do tha tby taking names off of admissions packages that go for review and instead use a numbering system that leaves all traces of names out to an unbias official. At no point in time is potential participation in varsity athletics part of the criteria.

Kids from poor environments and all socioeconomic classes get into college wave. Normal colleges don't eliminate them, neither would this process.

Not agreeing with him, just saying.
