Transfer rumor...

  • The only one saying brown is transferring is "jbilbow" on 247 and on the bwi board. No other sources........I think this guy is just stirring up rumors.

The Sooners have serious WR issues he would start day 1..... So there is a fit.....

    This one would really hurt.

Im sorry but he woukd not start day one. He would be in the rotation and will still get lots of catches and touches due to the offense OU runs but would not start day one. Stills, Metoyer and Bester will start and that is if they can hold off Shepperd or Neal. Jalen Saunders still hasn't been cleared by ncaa but if he is will also be in line to possibly start. Brown woukd be a big get for depth and rotation purposes.

Give Joe Schad and ESPN a day or two to pick up the story and they'll make sure Justin Brown finds his way to Norman.

  • So they may want to get a free agent because they had a guy flunk out of acadamia juggernaut OU? More culture change. F'ing BS.

"The Sooners also have three receivers from last season's squad who are suspended"

Just to build on this thought. Ho Hum, three receivers are suspended.

Well you know, Penn State now has the time to put academics ahead of football.

If I hear that one more time, I may paint myself green and show up at Emmert's office and kick down his door. It's a effing joke that those pricks are suggesting that PSU academics < football. I busted my ass for my degree and earned it and have been running circles around those in my industry around the same age group for years now

  • I'm calling BS on this thread and it should be locked. The OP started another thread "Justin Brown to Ok". And stating he was discussed as a transfer to OK at the Letterman meeting, someone in the thread stated they were at the meeting and JB was there and it was not discussed. This thread and the other thread started at the same time by a poster with only 40 posts.

If true...can't say that Silas' decision didn't have an effect. The D is sticking together but the O really doesn't have the same kind of leaders.

Not sure about this statement. Mike Zordich has been a true leader through this!

However, everyone also said that they know more transfers could happen and the staff is in a really tough spot trying to fend off transfers.

Any names floating around that you could share with the board? Thanks

  • Why in the name of all that is Holy would JB transfer now. He's going to be a senior, and will be the focal point of this offense. He's got the #1 WR spot locked down, and even though it would be a hell of a lot more enticing to have Landry Jones throwing you the ball vs McGloin, I just can't see him up-rooting himself of ONE SEASON of uncertainty - uncertainty meaning he will definitly play 2nd fiddle to Kenny Stills and prob Meteyor. If Jazz Reynolds is allowed to return to the team, he'll easily be behind him too.

I know Oklahoma is in a pinch too with these recent suspensions, but seriously........Brown can't really be considering these clowns for a transfer.

IMO, this would be a very poor decision if this were to happen. In all honesty, I don't hold ANYTHING against Silas and Pollard for leaving, but I WOULD be seriously pissed if Brown up and gave us the middle finger.

  • I don't start rumors and I think you all may owe me a little apology after what's come out today from org sites. there is validity to the info i communicated. I'm telling you it's not over. I suspect this is why people hesitate to share info. I use my real name on here, I don't hide.

You posted something as fact, which it is not. No one owes you an apology. We appreciate your willingness to share information, but it wasn't correct as you originally stated it. There's no need to attempt to make yourself an internet martyr.

First of all, don't take it personally. Secondly, when you hear something like this, don't just post "Brown to Oklahoma". Provide a little background with what you heard and by whom (no need for names, just a generality). Also, using absolutes never is a good idea before something is final.

If you use some caution when posting, you will find that people are much more receptive and appreciative.

  • Not making myself an Internet anything, simply stating that this is a key reason why many people stopped posting info on the other sites. I provided what I was given from someone who has provided many quality insights in the past. He has access and has been a part of the program since the early 80's when he played. When people decide to shoot the messenger and call me out saying I am a liar or stirring the pot making up BS for the heck of it, I take exception to that. I have not been on this site for long and don't post much when I don't have much to add. I don't use a made up name and post crap just for the heck of it. I am not claiming to be a big insider since I am not, but I have been around the program and the Lettermen for many years now and occasionally come across info. This is proving out not to be crap and he may not have made an official public decision but I obviously had good insight since hours after I posted this it hit the main info track. I posted it the way it was given to me and you are correct that in the future I will preface with "What I have been told...". But calling me out as a BS'er or troll is just plain wrong.
