Why would you turn your back on this team and these players. They are totally innocent and deserve our support. We are the best fans in the world. Let's show the world what we are made of when times get tough...

Agreed. Some of you want to return your season tickets, hopefully the players don't feel the same way as the rest of you or we might not have a football team. Please sleep on it a few days, don't follow the example media and ncaa in over reacting to things too quickly. As a Senior at Penn State I am greatly looking forward to the coming season. Even if we lose every game it will still be worth it for me, that's because of the people your with and the student athletes we support.

It is more about giving money to the university.

No offense but as a senior those tickets cost you how-much? $200?

Try the people that have vested 100/200/300 points in the NLC over the years/decades. Those that got shelled via the STEP program and had to drop $100/200/400 a seat for the license plus another several hundred dollars for the ticket plus the parking and the travel to each game.

There are some people that dropped a ton of coin and are now going to have to watch a really inferior product

  • Guys, those people in student tickets and customer relations are having a rougher day than we are. They didn't do anything wrong either, and it probably wouldn't hurt to wait until Wednesday and see if you feel the same way.

In addition, I would guess most of the seniors will stay this year and PSU should be competitive this year.

    It's a tough situation.

Speaking for myself, I want to support the players and coaches but I also want to make sure Erickson and the BOT know they made the wrong decision. I want a change at the top and the only thing I can think of at the moment is to vacate my season tickets. Our family spends in excess of $20,000 a year for PSU football. I'm really feeling that that money can be spent on something better.

I will wait and see what the fall out is in 10 days. The players even the walk-ons are getting a lot of offers from other schools. I'm not sure what this team is going to look like in 10 days. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

Does anyone know the quickest way to get my season ticket refund for this year? So P-O'd right now. I can understand vacating the wins and the fines, but the rest if just awful....

I don't want to bail on the current players and recruits that stick with us, but this is just harsh. The people involved (with the exception of the BoT) are already gone.

or you can, you know. support the team.

  • I just want to say that I have run through the gamut of emotions today and I have reached the point that I am proud to say I will be fighting hard for this team...this year. I do not know what future years hold but I have tickets for this year and I intend to stick with that commitment. I know it really sucks seeing our university cower under the hypocritical hand of Mark Emmert but how can we ask our players to stay and fight on for our University of we the fans refuse to fight for them. I know you all do not mean the players any harm but I ask that we do our best to stand together.

I live in Hoboken, NJ, have no car, was out of work most of the spring but I have decided I am going to find a way to State College for every home game this fall. No, we do not deserve this but our bed has been made.

You obviously did not read the post above yours......the issue isn't about supporting the team, it's bowing down to every idiotic decision the BoT makes.

    PSU2001

  • It's not as simple as supporting the players and coaching staff. Every dollar given is by extension support for Rod, Dave and the BoT's and their handling of the scandal. While a packed house this year would be in support of the team, the new leadership will view it as a resounding thumbs up for the job they are doing in managing this debacle. The only message that those folks will hear is the one that affects the bottom line. PSU is not the same place it was 8 months ago. The way I figure it, every person that gives generously in support of that institution has to decide if they can support what is now taking place up there. Furthermore, a refund isn't a realistic option, so I have about 6 months to answer that question (when money for next season starts coming due).

They refused to provide me with the terms and conditions of my purchase today. I am working on getting my refund.

    Aren't you a student?

Not to grandstand here, but I'm going to. This is a chance to show how strong the PSU family is, and to show the current players how much PSU means to us and what their staying means to us as fans and family.

I understand it's different with STEP now and some may deem the choice not financially justifiable, but I for one will be at every PSU game I can get tickets to, and won't sit at any time other than halftime.

I love this school, love this program, and love this team. I won't hold it against any player that decides to transfer, but for those who stay, I will stay and support. They deserve every bit of praise thrown their way. Whether we win by 3, or lose by 40, I'll be there. I'll definitely DVR other games, but I'll be there every Saturday this season.

  • As a fan of The Ohio State University I want to see Penn State back an revelant in the college football world. Have fun supporting the boys that suit up pack the place for them. I will say that in ten yrs from now they will be some of your all time favorite Lions! They will be the heart and soul of the program. It is easy to say with all your success but this is truly is a fresh new start !

  • Now is not the time to bail on your school.
Think about the other sports that rely on FB revenue to stay competitive.
You have a new coach and staff that need your support.
    Show it!

hell i don't support obama health care, considering my future in the health field, but you bite the bullet and make the best of the worst situation. a spade's a spade. you get a refund for season tix, you don't support the team. clear as day.

We need change at the top. That means a new President, new AD, and a new BOT.

I have no problem supporting this team and this University through this whole mess but I have a hard time supporting anything PSU as long as the current leadership is in place.

I can assure you one fan's season tickets won't faze the BoT one bit. Or the president. Or the AD.

We're cutting off the nose to spite the face here. JMO though.

  • Buckeye here. I think PSU should refund those who want a refund. When Tressel resigned (fired by all counts) a ton of season ticket holders didn't renew. Fans like myself benefited from those fair weather ticket holders. Last year OSU made tickets available to the general public for the first time that I can remember. Let those that choose not to come out and support the men that stick with the team sit at home and loath, while you all enjoy the experience that is Penn State. I know I had a great time both years I went to Happy Valley.
