IMO, horrible planning by PSU. these last 3 or 4 months haven't been PSU's finest hour in terms of planning and execution.

I kinda thought PSU would do what the Phillies did with Harry Kalas. Open the Beav, and have a moving line walk by his casket, pay their respect and move out.

I always envisioned Joe Pa laying in state in Beaver Stadium while hundreds of thousands of people got to pay their last respects. Streams of cars from all corners of the state (and the country) would drive up to State College over the course of a week so everyone would get that chance. It does not look like that is going to happen.

  • How do I argue/rebuttal against this argument someone said to me in an email? I'm losing my cool and can't think of a polite response. Someone help

It’s tacky. And glorifying someone who doesn’t deserve this status. I read that flags were half-mast for him. He was a great football coach. That’s about all I will say. He doesn’t deserve hero status. We have people fighting wars for our freedom and have arms and legs blown off and die. And don’t get this kind of thanks. And Obama calling the family. Wow if I was a democrat that lost my vote.

  • So, this is going to be broadcast on BTN? What time? Need to set DVR if it is middle of day because of work. It is Thursday, correct?

This person is correct that many others do not receive the recognition that they deserve. Yet, that is a separate issue and shouldn't diminish Joe's lifelong accomplishments and the literally millions of people who he impacted with his deeds. We all have different purposes in life. Some are destined for more focal roles in society, and they will be recognized in like fashion. Others choose and desire to serve anonymously. If millions of people consider Joe to be a hero and deem him worthy of such a sendoff, then it is foolish to minimize the validity of the action. He obviously made a significant impact. If they're terribly bothered by it, it's a simple thing to ignore.

I feel like a teenager doing this, but what's everyone wearing to this thing?

I don't want to wear the wrong thing like at the last home game when I wore white and got ridiculed by the masses.

The viewing today was pretty casual attire for most people. However, the service i feel is more formal, so i am wearing a suit.

I please the ladies by any means necessary
