“We’re doing things we couldn’t imagine,” says safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. “But we’re doing them together.”
"Whoever’s trying to kill me isn’t getting the job done. But one day, I’m going to punch that f___r in the face."
Anybody who thinks we are going to be able to maintain a .500 or better record through this don't comprehend the enormity of the scholarship limits the NCAA put us under. They knew what they were doing in beating us down. We will be extremely lucky to keep 65 sholarship football players. We'll be giving them out to walk-ons like candy. Add additional defections from the current team and current recruits and our overall talent level is going to drop. God help us if Hack has a change of heart going forward. He is (IMO) the most important recruit we've had in many years.
Then add the inevitable injuries and players that simply "don't make it" and we just won't have the horses to compete. There are going to be some embarassing losses over the next 4-5 years with a shocking win or two mixed in. Go out about 5-6 years and I think we'll make a quick recovery after the sanctions end, but the near future will be rough. 2019 or 20 is when we can realistically think about the BIG title. When the first class of 25 after sanctions are sophmores, I think will be the start of the rebirth of a power.
Even if BOB is the next coming of Bear Bryant, he is going to be dealing with too great a talent and depth deficiency to truly compete.
