The "U" Schools

While reading the boards, I came across a post on how PSU could possibly become "Quarterback U" under O'Brien(hypothetical of course), to go along with our long standing "Linebacker U" tradition. This got me thinking of two things: 1) which schools are know for being "U 's", and 2) If you were the top recruit at your position, and distance was not a factor in your decision, where would you choose to go?

RB U - Miami/USC
QB U - USC
LB U - us, of course
Safety U - Miami
O Line U - Wisconsin
If I was an Army AA CB, ranked #1 in the nation, I would choose to attend.................LSU!

Honestly, I'm not sure I see any other school earning a name like PSU did. It's very forced when any other school tries to claim something like that.

Cant be claimed. Has to be given to you.
Linebacker U was given.
Tailback U was given to USC I believe.
People can say they are like Linebacker U, and try to state their case, but being given the name by someone else, and that standing over a large course of time, is where its at.

For fun though:
QB: Miami/Michigan fighting it out
RB: USC...runner up would be Auburn for me
OL: hmmm, not sure, as I would try to not just apply a system and go with that (ex. Wisky)
DL: Tennessee was who I liked there in the Fulmer years, not sure would have to think a bit
LB: Penn State
DB: D1AA :) Tough one, not sure where I would go with it. (and I dont just do 'recent' when thinking of these personally)

Great thought on Auburn as RB U. Didn't even think about them, but they're hard to discount.

As of late, I would have to say Clemson is DL U.
If I was the top DE in the country, I'd have Clemson in my top 3 for sure.

There is almost no arguement against Miami as RB U.
Edgerian James, Willis mcgahee, Clint portis, frank gore, najeh davenport had a decent career and Lamar miller could be a stud

USC...5 Heismans at the RB position. The U cant hang with that.
