Do you believe football discriminates against White running backs and white corners?

No, it doesn't. If you can play football and you're better than the next guy, then you will play. In football, plenty guys get tryouts (multiple tryouts) and have plenty of opportunities to earn a chance to play.

Playing football and coaching football are two different animals. Coaching, only a select few get opportunities based on who they know, who they've played under, etc. it's a more selective process.

To state that there is no legitimacy to that argument would be absolutely naive. Fact is that their is a discriminatory factor in the coaching profession, but I don't believe it's an epidemic as some are preaching. It's to a certain extent, and I believe there is progress being made.

That argument has no standing. They're football coaches, not CEOs. Let them wear hoodies and have cornrows, this ain't the military. Horton has demonstrated his ability to coach, he doesn't need to cut his hair to prove that he can coach.

    This lol +1000000

He's still a coordinator... There arent even that many black coordinators in the league, let alone HCs... Again, the numbers don't lie. And the numbers are even worse in college. Facts are facts.

True. Caldwell is an offensive coordinator again though, he got promoted midseason. Love that guy.

  • Norv Turner gets fired everywhere he goes but teams line up to give him another chance. He is the Kim Kardashian of football, he's been everywhere.

That post is not someone crying. He just said progress was being made... Id agree with that. And me saying that there is still a long way to go isn't crying. It's stating facts.

Only progress needed is for people to stop crying and calling it unfair. When that happens progress is made. No racist hiring happened at all. Best man for the job got it.

Could be his lack of playoff experiences, lack of jobs he wanted, asked for too much power or money. Maybe he isn't good enough?

This thread began as a very good discussion in which bluey and rmj both presented valid reasonable points, then philafan gets involved and brings the discussion down to lowest common denominator talk radio style arguments. Lock this thread up because its gonna get ugly. I can see the "Philly" in Philafan.

You can run from the truth all you want..... Best person gets hired regardless. Does not matter who they are.

No one is crying, no one said anything is unfair. Just discussing the situation at hand. If you can't have a discussion like an adult then just don't talk. It's no good just assuming people's attitudes and resorting to name calling because you can't articulate a valid point.

Yeah people are upset, but no one in here is crying or calling owners racist. At least read our posts before responding.

Not true at all. That's not just the NFL, that's everywhere. There's always bias in any selection process. It's like saying notre dame was the best team to play in the Title game based on their résumé compared to Oregons or another SEC team. It simply isn't true.

Doesn't mean owners or racist, just means that opportunities are not as abundant and every selection process is as equal as people would like to think.

So the owners aren't the problem and no one is upset..... So then we all agree the right person as chosen by the teams was hired regardless of color?

If not then what is the issue?????

Terrible comparison. Reid has proven he can be a successful HC in the NFL. They certainly didn't hire him because of the last two seasons.

Lovie Smith appeared in one SB... So did Andy Reid... Listed below are their records. Lovie has 12 yrs exp, Reid has 14. Also look at their recent seasons... Enough said. Terrible comparison? SMH
