The Crow Diner **Official I was wrong thread**

  • 1) Matt McGloin.
    I have been very vocal in my criticisms of him as a QB, and stand by a lot of the things I said during the season about his struggles. However, his turnaround was pretty spectacular, and he deserves every award he won this year. I'm not a fan of his, and probably won't ever be, but I can't deny the season he had.

    2) OSU game.
    I believed with every fiber of my being that we were going to win this game, and thought so from the beginning of the season. I thought they were too reliant upon their offense, and that a QB like Braxton who takes a few minutes to get up from every hit would be dizzy after Hodges or Mauti got their hands on him. Wrong. I still think we should've won though. Woulda coulda shoulda.

    3) Oklahoma.
    I predicted they were going to compete for a national title this year. Unfortunately for me I didn't take into consideration Landry Jones and that he could single handedly lose the KSU game and would need a new set of underwear after facing ND's pass rush. Whoops. Can't wait til that guy is out of Norman. He's supposed to be extremely nice, but he needs to leave.

  • Coach obrien far and away deserves my crow eating award for 2012.. Guy was a disaster hire at the time and all he did was put together the most resilient coaching performance ever, despite only being a first year head coach.. He is now a top candidate for every top open head coaching vacancy in any level of org football and sees his future in state college (fingers crossed)

  • How far back does this go?? I recll saying the Mike Robinson should be a RB, not a QB in 2005 to make room for a 5 star hotshot QB from Pitts area. oops.

    This year I thought somebody other than Matt McG should start. I was at the bowl game vs. Florida.... we were the better team that day if not for Matty tossing to teh wrong team all day. That stuck in my mind. I'll eat the crow on Matt this year.

    I thought Scrap would be the best man for the HC job. I was not pleased with some dude from the Pats. Crow.

    I thought Roof would make our Def look like an open gate.... Crow.

    I 100% thought it was a legal issue and NCAA would not/could not do a damn thing. Not sure it is crow, tastes more like sh&t.

  • Hell you can just hook me up to the Crow IV on a steady drip. I think one of my biggest crow moments was the Dave O'Brien would make a great stopgap addition to the QB position. Thank God he went to Wisconsin and the Real O'Brien got MM to play so damn well. MM almost has to be a staple crow dish for most of us I think. The most painful serving of crow for me is picking the Steelers to finish at least 11-5. This is a great idea for a thread btw...

    I said i truly thought he wanted to leave.....but stuck with psu after the buyout was turned down...
