I can't help but wonder what would have happened if Newsome stayed with his UM commitment and Forcier came to PSU.
I think Tate would have been a lot better off if he could have sat behind Clark last year and not had Rodriguez leave him out there to get killed so often, and I think Newsome would have been a much better fit in Rodriguez's system, running more and throwing less. Tate would have been the likely starter for PSU this year I'd imagine.
Since he got buried on the depth chart by the B10 offensive player of the year this year, and is now leaving UM, ya think he's regretting his choice a bit?
I'm never fond of UM players, but I look at Tate as one kid I would have liked to see PSU grab.
Hopefully he finds a better situation.

Yea i agree i think tate would have been a better fit rather than newsome, i wouldnt have been able to handle all of his on field celebrations tho

I dont think he will but it will be interesting to see if denard robinson decides to transfer, it would leave michigan with a huge mess!

Was Tate ever considering psu or is this purely hypothetical? I know he came from san diego and to the best of my knowledge, or coaches have no clue where that's at!

Forcier family, Forcier brothers include, Jason Forcier, Chris Forcier, and Tate Forcier. Jason Graduated Stanford ’09, Chris Forcier UCLA quarterback is now at Furman, while Tate Forcier Michigan quarterback, all born and raised in San Diego California.

Yeah, he had an offer, went on a visit or two (unoffical maybe? I forget.), was pretty high on PSU from some of what I had read on BWI back in '08, but he went up to UM and realized that he was way better than Threet or the other guy they had, and committed to Rodriguez.
At the time, Newsome was a UM commit, and when Rodriguez signed Forcier, he switched to PSU.

That picture is priceless.
One better, when UM got their 6th win and some speculated they may be heading to the 'Pizza Pizza' bowl a local radio station imposed a slice of pizza hanging out of Tate's mouth, to replicate the image of Woodson and the Rose in his teeth. I laugh everytime I think about that pic, good stuff

Tate should have come here, but at the time he knew he was better than anything UM had, and IIRC his dad is a big UM fan. Ironically one of the teams who surprisingly was in the hunt for Tate was San Diego State, which is where the new coach came from.

SDSU didn't recruit him hard. That was Chuck Long at the helm of SDSU I believe when Tate was being recruited.

I didn't say he was the coach who recruited him I said ironically that is where the new coach is coming from. IIRC San Diego State was a surprise team in one of his cut downs. Maybe top 10 or something.
