Ha. I figured. If I was Joe and was asked by Spanier to resign today, my response would be, "you first".
Spanier is the one ultimately responsible for all of this. If I was him, I would prefer it if Joe fell on the sword for me too.
Good for Joe. Downvote away, fellas.
Try to fathom the hypocrisy of a Government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured .but not prove they're a citizen

As long as Spanier loses, the rest doesn't matter. If he did his job in 2002, we wouldn't be dealing with this now.

No offense, but so is having someone from an SEC school sans Vanderbilt telling us about morality and playing by the rules. Bama fans have been pretty darn good and supportive on this. Your message is totally different unless I'm not reading your mind right.

Maybe I'm confused here....but what grounds would the BOT have to fire him?
Unless they know something really deep and dark.....can they really fire him simply because he reported to his superior and left it at that?

That's my point. Firing for not doing his job or getting it done on the field holds no water in the middle of a 7 game winning streak. Nothing has changed with him as a coach for years. So no grounds for that.
I'm simply talking about making a bad situation worse. (not that i'm saying joe should stay after this year, totally not suggesting that) I'm just thinking his contract is over, is "firing" him going to really make things better? I would think simply stating "this is the last year, we are not renewing your contract...let's work on a retirement situation and move on" is a better route.
As much as I am upset he didn't do more, he did NOT rape these kids. Let's leave him A LITTLE dignity to leave on a more normal scale at the end of the year. Only way I see firing is if he knew a ton of information, it's a fact he knew it, and a fact he hid it. Otherwise....
