Its time to produce....I keep hearing excuses

Pre visit he said he sat down with his family and told them he may commit.... All the PSU sites got on commitment watch with him.... he then talks to Mom and now he wants to bring her up here...

Connecting the dots.... I think he wants to be a Lion and very well may be.... we need all the positives we can get. We need 2-5 commits in the next 2 weeks.... or else we are mid March and not landing anyone...

I didn't give one excuse there phila. I want commits to. But at the end of the day we either get them or we don't, too early for me to freak out. I'm sure you'll find an "excuse" in there though.

Who said anything about her being anti PSU?

The kid just wants his mom to visit the campus and see the place for herself. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I agree somewhat Phila. I was tweaking out when I posted yesterday, but I agree. This is concerning. We are getting kind words... Our competition is getting commits from top kids... Not good... Not good at all.. So much for momentum...

BUT we will get some elite kids this year... It will take time though... Our competition is lightyears ahead right now and the results speak for themselves...

"Chill out" and "relax" have never been strengths for Phila, no matter what board he's on. "Overreact", "panic", or "make absurd and unfounded claims" are the standard MO. There's no logical/factual basis for believing that his mother vetoed the commitment, or that it bodes ill for PSU. Perhaps in Phila's family the views of both parents didn't matter, but even in my dysfunctional, divorced family, both of my parents would have wanted to see for themselves.

The kid is what, 17 years old? He wants his Mom involved and wants her to see the place first. She'll like it too after she gets the education spiel. Relax.

I am not panicking man. Just a little sad how far behind we are.... I thought we would get 1 or 2... But having zero is a little sad... Michigan has like 10 four stars right now... hoke is in year 2... Just going to take hard work, but we are in decent shape... Just hope these kids are being sincere. Kind words dont really mean much.

Nope but some of these kids who are showing interest and showing up are more than I expected this early from BOB. We hired a no-name coach from the NFL after coming off a horrible scandal that was infinitely shoved down our throats by ESPN. I'm just happy that it looks like guys are springing back to having interest in us so quickly. Now I want commits, but all things considered I'll live.

I am. But as a diehard fan it's hard to be patient when Mich and OSU are getting commits by the boatload (and ELITE guys too)... But I have perspective. Post scandal, this may be as good as we can hope for... Although the kids themselves are constantly saying, "this is a new staff/they had nothing to do with that/ this is a fresh start, etc." Just was hoping for a couple of commits... Even if it was Mahon or someone like that... We are in good shape with kids, I just hope we still are after they visit some elite schools. We will see...

Some of you guys kill me with your overreactions. The story is not that we arent there yet. The story is that you haven't even given us a chance to get there. UofM was able to land the majority of these kids this weekend due to the great relationships they were able to build over approx a years worth of recruiting. That is something obviously the PSU staff didnt have the luxary of this year. For the majority of the kids at PSU this weekend this was the 1st time they had to even meet the coaching staff, yet for some reason you expected similar results????.........Next year you will more then likely see some kids commit at or after our JR day.......You have nothing to be sad about so stop crying!

And Meyer's staff is new... Sooo...

And the results speak for themselves... We are not there yet. We will get there, no doubt. BOB is doing a heck of a job. But we are not on their level yet. We will get there in due time... Patience is hard right now when you look around the conference and seeing other teams killing it. We will too, but we have to be patient. It is hard. That's all, its just hard... But I am trying... Don't think its an over-reaction... I think Phila is going a little far. Certainly farther than me... But I certainly understand where he is coming from.
