Is he for sure gone for good?
Although I agree he might be our 3rd best RB, I think he has been a good leader for this team.
And his rumored transgression, in the big picture, doesn't seem all that bad to me. I mean, he's not an axe murderer.
I, for one, would like to see him back with the team. I've never met him, but he seems like a good kid. And he may be our best blitz pick-up RB, screen RB, and KR.

Read elsewhere where the team voted to bring him back, after the topic was introduced by the coaching staff. I guess we'll know sometime this week...

Originally someone said if he doesn't get caught doing what he did again he should be fine. However, everything has sounded worse since then. Joe said he seriously doubts it but we'll see. I think he wants to do whatever it is he has to do to get back on the field.

Joes history with these situations seems to be: Make a bigger deal out of it than it is so the kid knows he messed up and Joe is upset about it, punish him a little more than most HC probably would, let him earn his way back onto the field. Hope he comes back, but even if he does, I'd be surprised if Joe let him play as early as week 2 when we could really use his speed.

Agreed. Almost every year, someone "cleans out their locker" only to be back a few days later.
Personally, I'm hoping SG gets his crap together and gets back on this team. He's a good kid and he can help this team.

Very well said. I was going to say Joe usually makes a bigger deal out of it than it is but wasn't sure how that would be responded to. Glad you guys agree. I think he'll be back.

If anyone knows, they haven't really said from what I've seen. And personally, I'm not sure it matters in the end. It is what it is.

Very true. I guess I am trying to gauge the liklihodd of him coming back. Was it reefer, or armed robbery (obviously just making things up to illustrate my point)? I would think some things are more likely to result in permanant boots...

At some point Joe needs to actually not let a player back.
Until that happens , the whole "cleaned out the locker" is just a dog and pony show used to incite fear. Once in a while daddy has to punish the kid after he counts to 3, or the count loses it's meaning.
With that said, let it be some other time. Green is a heckuva athlete
