I agree, I understand why he had to leave
1.) Scandal questions 2.) The possible divide between Offensive and Defense 3.) First time HC, typically do better with a mentor on the staff (Roof was/is that for OB).
I am glad that Scrap stuck up for himself! I hope he gets a job soon...it sad that 100s of defensive coaches (at the college and pro level) that couldn't hold his jock are employed and he is not...

I’d like to thank the following posters for their contributions, stay classy fellas-
PSU_21- Being mentioned on the TOOS that Tom Bradley is contacting players with the purpose of finding them another school. The players are not the one initiating contact and it appears Bradley has a strong dislike for the new staff. AND TOOS staff now saying this information was shared with them by someone they trust.
Leftcoastlion- Trustworthy sources. It's true.
Philaphan- If true he is a fake Lion. To hell with him.
Bonovoxpsu- Et tu, brute? Each passing day seems to become darker than the next. This doesn't seem like Scrap at all... Heartbreaking.
PSULions17- Many in the know say it is indeed true.... very disappointed...
fortheglory94- If he is actively trying to pry kids away from Penn State, then the shoe fits. This isn't a TV analyst criticizing free tattoos. This is a treacherous act by a man who seemingly had unquestioned scruples. Very petty and sad to hear. Hopefully he's as successful at it as he is at getting a HC job.
LaJollaLion- So he is basically pissing on Vandy and LJ while doing this? Not to mention the fans and alums of the school. Pretty piss poor for him to step in now IMO.
PSUatw- He's obviously very disappointed he wasn't retained. I must say that is very immature though. He was PSU through and through.
Ccmpsu- I heard this on Tuesday from a player that he was "shopping" them. The player felt he was doing it to try to help himself find a place to land.... Unreal
psubills62- Very disappointing indeed. Well, as others have said, you find out who your friends truly are.
PvillePA_Lion- Wow, talk about instantly losing respect for someone....
POV- Had positive memories of Scrap. Consider them erased. What a POS traitor. AND Also, isn't he still getting a PSU paycheck while he is out of a job? Apparently, he wasn't the same type of class guy as O'Brien to get us through these tough times. I am glad stuff like this gets into the light so we don't have some day where we give him a standing ovation at halftime. F him.
PSU17- This. Bradley is pretty much unhireable and I'm sure wants to coach again.
Psupartyman- IF Scrap is doing that then he has lost every single ounce of respect I ever had for him - which was a lot. That is something Joe would never approve of in a million years. Actually is a scumbag move if true.....All I can see Wow! Not only is the world against us, but were getting turned on by our own.......
Flipper10- Every day I think we are at rock bottom and there is only one place to go, and every day it gets a little worse. Where's my bottle of Patron?
Perfect- Wow. Hasn't the old staff caused enough problems.

I have a hard time believing this.
you may want to start believing.
Abluestreak- Those of you who don't believe that story don't know Bradley very well.
psujmc1992- Hasn't the whole Sandusky affair proven to everyone that a person's public persona does not necessarily reflect what a person is really like? How could Bradley have developed a "strong dislike" for the new staff? He only knows two from the old staff and likely has had little, of any, contact with the new guys. Reeks of jealousy. AND I've learned nothing? Maybe not, because I already knew not to idolize people I've never met. I don't know Scrap. I "respect" what he's done as a coach at Penn State but that's about it. With multiple corroborating sources, this is not too hard to believe.

Sad. But this is how I feel now too. Very sad. AND Now I'm very glad a class guy like Bill O'Brien got the job, and (not) Tom Bradley.
PSUkurt- Gem
How is it proven? It has now been reported and sibstantiated by 3 different credible posters on rhis and another site If it is true it is sad. I think we can agree on that.
pennstateI0- Can we offer the NCAA 2 yrs off the postseason ban in return for vacating all of Bradley's victories?
Pennstpete- I am relieved he is not our coach. I liked him but felt the kids did not respond to him. I understand there was a hell of a lot going on, but never saw a PSU team give up like they did vs Wisconsin.

Really? No need? Yet there are 5,000 posts here calling out media members for doing EXACTLY what these folks did here this morning - harsh condemnation of a good man without significant evidence. It's stunning that people can't/won't understand this concept.
By the way, since someone felt it necessary to downvote my original post at the top, any upvotes from Gem or like-minded folks on that post would be appreciated. It's not really the votes, it's the principal...

You really can't tell the difference between being a person who approaches things thoughtfully and gives those they trust the benefit of the doubt and someone who jumps off the ledge and condemns people in the harshest terms possible at the slightest hint of trouble? The threshold between internet poster and media member doesn't matter, the principle is the same. The fact that this is a message board doesn't absolve people of the responsibility of acting like reasonable adults, no matter how much it may seem that way at times.

Statement from Tom Bradley
