Exactly. IF the worst case scenario comes out from these emails, this would be bad for PSU. lol, thanks for the hot tip.

Plenty of public pressure during the Cam Newton saga to slam Auburn. And the NCAA didn't do anything over a minor technicality (Cam "didn't know") in which everyone would've understood if they absolutely hammered Auburn and would not have set some sort of dangerous precedent like they would in this case if they were to take action.
And the Auburn saga involved a direct pay-for-play effecting competitive advantage for the top player in the nation.
In this case, there still hasn't even been an NCAA rule broken.
I appreciate your sentiments greatly. But I don't consider it naive when I'm just going by the facts and "ignoring the noise," (to put it VERY nicely) so to speak.

"In this case, there still hasn't even been an NCAA rule broken."

This goes to my point. You are stating your opinion as fact here. Well the article above and articles I've read on just about every major network indicate that there could be two violations.

The only ones saying there is nothing here are Penn State fans. Btw, if it were my school, I would be saying the same things you guys are.

Penn State shouldn't get Death Penalty from NCAA for Jerry Sanudsky - Andy Staples - SI.com

As the layers of the tragedy at Penn State get pulled back more with each passing day, people keep trying to turn a legal issue into a football one. On the night Jerry Sandusky was convicted, some called for the Death Penalty. Not for Sandusky -- for whom a quick, painless death is far too lenient -- but for Penn State's football program. When CNN obtained e-mailsJune 29from the administrators who teamed with coach Joe Paterno to either cover up or ignore an accusation that would have led to Sandusky's arrest in 2001, people wanted jail time for the men involved and an NCAA hammer for the football program.

  • Regarding the experts, McMann is an expert. Rapp & Milstein are not. Teaching a sports law class years ago or representing Maurice Clarett aganst the NFL to get drafted does not
qualify person as expert on NCAA legislation and vioalations. So i question the validity of the article to start.

The use of leaks is also alarming. It is not surprising that leaks are coming out at the same time a judge will rule on whether to dismiss charges against Curley & Shultze. The case against Curley & Schultze is weak. Failure to report will be dismissed due to statute of limitatons. But the allegation that they lied tot he grand jury is also weak unless the questions are direct & incapable of being misinterpreted, perjery may also be dismissed.

Finally, did the leaks of emails tell you anything that we did not know? CNN has not seen the emails. Rather, we must trust the person telling us the alleged content of the emails, and tellng us his/hr opinion as to what people were thinking. we must believe him? The person leaking the emails might have agenda he wants to further -such as the AG wanting to influence the media, fans or the judge. We knew Spanier, Curley & Schultze met & discussed what to do based on what McQuery told them. We also knew that Curley said h did not report to CYS based on the fact that McQuery did not tell them he saw a rape. The emails show that Paterno was not involved in the emails.

Institutional control refers to violations of NCAA legislation. There are no violations of NCAA rules. So all this talk of Sanctions of death penalty are ridiculous.

i wish people would stop giving credence to the idea sanctions are comig. They arent. That hurts "the mother ship" but ther story will end soon.
