It's no use. These people expected Joe to put the cape on and ruin the life of a friend and colleague based on hearsay. What he did was immoral because he didn't press on and push for more when investigations turned up nothing. It's an extremely sensitive subject but people think he should have risked it all by dragging several people through the mud based on hearsay. Paterno was supposed to do the job of the DA, police, athletic director, school president, judge, and jury.

Sorry, I disagree completely with what you've said.

On this site, and TOS, and FOS, I have always been a strong supporter of Paterno.

    No longer.

    1) The word of your trusted GA is not "hearsay".
    2) The 2002 incident was #2. It showed a pattern.
    3) Paterno was, and still is, the most powerful person in the PSU AD, if not the entire university. With great power comes great responsibility. When a trusted GA tells you that he saw Sandusky b***f****g a 10 yo boy, in the shower, at the PSU football building, it is your responsibility to make certain, to move heaven and earth, to make sure, that this is seriously investigated. Because if it isn't, here is what happens a) the pervert continues to molest young boys, and b) the university that you love gets its name dragged through the mud, and worse. Paterno could have, but didn't, contact Child Protection, PA State cops, SC cops, Fergie Cops, etc. But he didn't. An abysmal failure.

I think you are jumping to conclusions. And in a serious uninformed manner.

you seem to be one of the few PSU fans who realize and put in perspective what all people who walk this earth should feel. This isn't a crime against PSU. It is a crime against man..all of us..and if we as a society knowingly allow an animal like this to continue living a free life just a few miles from where we live..then we also have failed all mankind in a collosal way.
