Well they should have a chance to beat ND, who will be grossly overrated again and still doesn't have a QB worth anything.
I don't know how their defense will hold up against the option, which is the x-factor obviously. If ND takes the game seriously, they win by at least two TDs because Navy will be overmatched against their offense. If ND doesn't take the game seriously and looks at it as more of a vacation to play some crap D1 program, then that option will eat them up.
I'm definitely going to watch though, as long as its not during the PSU game.

I played HS football with one of the starting slot backs for Navy.. That game will be tough because those kids relish the opportunity to play big time programs
Navy always plays hard though. Every week they're less talented than the team across from them, and every week they give people a game.
They lost their QB didn't they?

Heard and interview with Ken Niamouatoalo (head coach) this morning on XM radio.
Says that their new QB is a better passer, but poorer option QB.
Said they were planning on throwing 20+ times per game.

Holy hell, that isn't good for them.
Just like with AF, the option hides some of their weaknesses, as it relies more heavily on decision making then being physically better.
Their OL better be ready, it will put A LOT more pressure on them and their assignments than the flexbone did. M

It will be interesting to see how Ted Roof prepares for this. Navy's offense, while not explosive, is frustrating as hell because it get 3 or 4 yards every down. Frustration leads to dumb penalties.
It forces a D to stay home. Its relatively easy to defend as long as the players don't try to play hero and make a stop in the backfield.
The option is lethal when players don't play smart or get out of position, that's when running lanes open up and those backs get a chance to make something happen.

I'm glad they play ND first instead of us. They won't hold anything back against the Irish, so we'll get a good look at them right off the bat.

So how will Navy handle the trip to Ireland?
