Small jeter update

  • Getting the parent to sign is generally not an issue. Landon Collins still signed for Bama despite his mother.

  • His dad says his top 3 are USC, Vandy and Wisconsin. And is not even sure why he is visiting PSU thursday.

    I think Sheldon is just shutting his dad out of the recruiting process now, if Jeter's dad really doesnt know why his visiting (which is obvious). If I wanted to go to a school and felt firm on my decision, it would be tough to go elsewhere despite my father. Still gotta go where you'll be happiest and not forced to go somewhere and risk problems such as depression, homesickness, etc...

    One of the worst moment in sports history. Be happy for your kid and b thankful he is driving bough and talented bough to get to play wherever e wants. Kid took it well considering it was aired on tv

    My dad wanted me to go to Uconn, My mom wanted me to go to Virginia Tech.... I made the right choice

  • Jeter is on campus today for his official visit. Lots of recruiting by the current commitments:

  • Andrew, that is one of the greatest posts I've ever read.... current recruits doing work!!! And we know Pat and staff have been doing work....

    I would not put money on PSU, but boy am I hopeful that this official visit shows him as much and more than all of his other official visits.

  • Jeter is going to have a great time this weekend if he's around for Friday night.... Andrew, do you know when he leaves to come home?

    Movin' On is on Friday night and that is ALWAYS a great time even if the talent is thin. This year Ludacris is playing and that should be great.

    His father said he would just be there for the day, Jeter tweeted about hoping it was a good weekend, so again the disconnect continues. I'm trying to find out the length.

    Wow. If he does stay the weekend, he's ours, IMO. It sounds like this whole visit is Jeter giving the proverbial finger to his father.

    Have to ask and I'm not sure its been discussed. Does Jeter's old man live with the family or is the family separated?

  • Hamilton, I'm not sure if anyone around here knows. Coming from a divorced home myself, I'm not sure it really matters. Dad might not live with Mom, but still might have all of the same influence and more depending on Sheldon's relationship with his Dad. Frankly, I just hope this is all a difference of opinion, but that his Dad will support whatever decision he makes.

    Coming from a divorce family allows you to talk about your situation not all divorced families situation. Your explanation is filled with mights and depending which equals I do not have a clue and this is just an opinion. Bottom line none of us know but I think the Fact he is visiting even though his dad says we are not in the final three tells you his dads final list is not the same as his sons.

    The reason I asked is that it seems there is a major disconnect between the two - almost like dad is all the sudden starting to care and being somewhat controlling after a few years of being non existent. Marcus Lattimore's old man all the sudden came out of the woodwork during his recruitment. He didn't really give two shits about him before. Maybe I'm throwing out a huge assumption, but if these guys were tight, they would be closer to being on the same page IMO.

    As an aside, I never thought that another Penn State basketball player would pass Joe Crispin as my favorite of all time, but Talor did at some point, and I'm not even sure when it happened. It might have been during the NIT Championship season or maybe it was last year when I watched so many games thinking what could have been if Frazier had played that well during his Sophomore season when Talor was still around with a senior dominated group.

    It's also too bad that Talor never got to play under Chambers... now that would have been something!

  • Trock that was exactly my point and why Hamiltons question, while interesting, didn't really make a difference. My situation was one of a million different dynamics so whether Jeters Dad lives at home and is still married to his mom is none of our business frankly and doesn't really matter.
