    No, the fanbase doesn't hate McGloin because the staff was incompetent. The fanbase hates McGloin because he carries himself like an entitled prig, because he is overly arrogant and hasn't done much of anything to back that up, and because his implosions singlehandedly cost us games.

    If Ralph Friedgen was coaching UMD last year, DOB's stats would have blown away McGloin's by a country mile and he wouldn't be transferring. Don't kid yourself. Do we want to compare stats of two years ago between the two?

    Anyone who thinks this fan base hates McGloin because the former staff was too incompetent to have any real DI talent at the position is a bit delusional. It's way more than that.

    PJ and Bolden were recruited by many big D1 programs. We brought in the talent, just did nothing to develop it. There's a big difference. He was at best the 3rd MOST TALENTED quarterback on the roster last year. Due to PJ's academic troubles and our staff's incompetency, he was the most game-ready. There is, though, real D1 TALENT at the position. McGloin gets pooed on because his head is too big for his helmet, and he's so immature that he has to get decked by a teammate due to the fact that he can't get over a practice argument during bowl game prep. You wanna walk around campus and town like you're a rock star, taunt the other sideline on their field right before you throw 2 pick 6's, and (allegedly) start a locker room fight in which you get your ass kicked? I have some poo for you.

    I am one that doesn't mind McGloin's attitude. I always thought that you have to be a little cocky when you play the QB position. Very few successful QBs aren't. The only problem is that he doesn't have FBS talent. I think he could be a pretty good FCS guy, but McGloin makes too many mistakes and doesn't have the arm to compensate for that.

    Bolden is mentally weak. PJ is an unknown because he hasn't been able to stay eligible.

    We would be lucky to have DOB.

But I'm all for DOB. people forget his bad magglioin is every year. Implosions at osu, down in Florida against Florida. That last minute offense against Nebraska. Where we didn't even get the play off in time if I remembercorrectly. Players don't seem to like him. His family are rumored to be d bags.

    Bolden lost his confidence and pride when (1)he wasn't allowed to play again over done garbage little qb (2) entire student section boos whenever he even puts his helmet on for fear he might I in

    Is jones learns to read and write. I'm all for him getting a shot. But DOB is far and above better than our options (doesn't mean he's a savior at the position though

I'm not a big McGloin fan, but talking about someone's family anonymously on a message board and stating that a kid who came from a terrible school system and by all accounts has been making a strong effort needs to learn how to read and write is a little over the line if you ask me.     Fair enough. For Paul jones it was too harsh. Should have used an example more like. Paul jones gpa wouldn't allow him to join a frat at Penn state or get on the football field. With his siZe and talent level. This is a disappointment for all of us.

    For Matt's thing. Sucks it's viewed as anonymous. I'll try and find the articles that I read that state my point(I think I read it last year so might take some time)

    Too add to that web u get knocked out by ur wide receiver. It shows bad chemistry(I know fights happen in locker rooms) but I don't think Brady or another top tier qb ever got punched by his wide receiver. It also shows Matt didn't realize that the kid he was arguing with is bigger faster stronger and quicker. And I think got in trouble with getting in a fight with the basketball team last year(not positive on this statement)

  • MM could come out and lead PSU to an undefeated season and I will still personally think he is a jerk. I watched him on local news when asked about Bolden's potentail transfer make the comment "I would hate to see him leave, he makes a great back up" I also heard him a different time bad mounth Paterno and the offence he ran and say how much he was looking forward to running a real system. No matter how much you may believe those things they are not things you say publicly.

    As for the fight,heard he may have called him a racial slur and if true he deseved to get knocked out and once healed knocked out agian.
