Never root for someone to get hurt. I've come to the point I want Silas to do well. Futher away from the situation I get the more I understand it. I don't fault any of the players that left. At one point I did. I hope Silas is alright and can be productive this year. I do admit part of me enjoyed watching him struggle this year but now I feel he's paid his penance in my eyes. USC though is getting what it deserves though. Read las week that Whittik and Lee both hurt their knees too. Haven't heard anything to the severity of them though.

  • He left but I would never like to see a kid injured. I know for a fact that he has told some current players that he regretted his decision so I don't hold no ill will against anyof the kids that jumped ship.

  • Never want to see anybody get hurt, so I hope he rebounds. As for success in football I could not care less about what he does or does not accomplish. He plays for USC.

Who? Never heard of this Silas Redd character.
Must not be a feature back. Probably split carries or sonething.
Either way, not cool to celebrate an injury at all.

EDIT: didn't mean to quote this specific post as I'm clearly talking to OP. Mobile is actin' a fool.

I never hoped he'd get injured.... I always hoped he and USC would suck.... suck horribly. I hoped they would suck horribly long before he got there... I hoped even more after he arrived. I loathe Lane Kiffen, Pete Carrol, and USC.

Re: him telling current players he regrets his decision = GARBAGE.

If he was a Heisman contender or had a chance at a national championship or was even remotely successful as a team... or even got more #'s / touches.... whatever.... he'd be THRILLED. The reason he'd regret the decision is because he was WRONG, at USC he had no opportunity to be a "feature back", everything went poorly. USC was not the golden goose he thought it would be. A fool would think that it was, and a fool did choose to transfer there.

If Zach Zwinak could come in and run for 1,000 yards in the amount of games he started / # of touches he got, Silas (healthy) could have easily hit 1,500. He'd be on the national stage.

He's one of the few players I rooted against who transferred, include Mr. Brown.... their decisions were terribly immature and short sighted and completely counter-intuitive (Mr. Fortt) to what they always said they stood for. I don't even bother to root against Fortt / Cal.... that's wasted care. Fortt right now would be staring down a brilliant year currently.

_____ _____ and the horse he rode in on.

But sorry to hear about the injury....

This about sums it up. +1

  • Let me begin by saying that I never wish injury about a player. I look at the failure of his transfer in a different light. His failures last year serve as an example to current PSU players that transferring away may not/will not put them in a better situation to succeed on or off the field. There is no doubt that any player that considered transferring looked to how Redd fared at USC and seriously reconsidered leaving.

  • I really don't care to be honest. He isn't a member of this program. Why should we care or not about his injury? I don't feel sorry one bit.

I'm not defending anything he did or said but just making a statement on what I was told. He may not say it in public but I give the kid credit for being man enough to come clean to some of the teammates that he left. He doesn't owe me jack or an apology. I think it makes it worse because he fell for what Lame Kiffin (not a typo) was spewing.

To be clear, in no way did I state that I was rooting for Silas to be hurt, nor did I "celebrate" his injury. Some of you have serious reading comprehension issues. I merely stated the nature of the injury, and then made a reference to karma. For those with the "who cares" posts, if you see a post with "Silas Redd" in the title, and you don't care, them don't open the freaking post. Lots of responses from people who took the time to open the post and respond yet claim "not to care".
