Good pick up for Baylor.
Briles is a much better coach than he gets credit for, and essentially made Sumlin's career at UH. Hopefully he can harness Oakman's potential and athletic ability.

Great story on the whole situation with Oakman, and how LJ helped him get into Baylor.
If i read this correctly, sounds like he is eligible this season to play? Is that because he was removed from the team, he doesn't need to sit a year?

I always feel for these kids who screw up as 18 and 19 year olds and have to rebuild themselves. I was in the same situation at the same age, and I managed to turn things around. Sometimes, for some people, you need the kick in the ass that O'Brien provided him.
Hopefully things work out for him.

It's funny how PSU is pretty much expected to give Oakman the boot b/c of what he did, yet it's perfectly fine for another school to give him another chance.

Wow, that's the second of our DL throw aways they have snatched up in the past five years or so. The last one ended up being an NFL number one pick in 2011, Phil Taylor.
Sometimes getting kicked off a team is the best thing that can happen to a young man. It makes him take stock of his life and redefine his priorities, and hopefully rededicate himself to succeed. I wish him the best.

OK, so what does he mean by players being always hungry? ANd having a buffet in the locker room?
The buffet sounds like he brought the NFL training table to good old PSU. But what's the deal with the going hungry thing?
I understand the meal plan program (i have a daughter in school), but don't specifically know how the scholarship program works with the meal plans.

I almost didn't read that story, glad I did. It's impossible to know if the events leading to his dismissal are the whole story, but if that's actually how it played out (which I find a bit hard to believe, a strike for a misidentification from a pizza guy seems especially harsh) then I feel for the kid. He seems to be taking responsibility for his actions, I just wonder if we're getting the whole story.

Yea. Hope he is able to turn it around. I (think) was able to turn it around after more years than it should have taken..
