First time I've seen ESPN apply semi-real journalism here. There are interviews and documents, not just talking heads. And a few new things, such as Paterno's statement he was going to make at his press conference.

Even with the few new tidbits, I don't think there is anything substantially new in this article, but it outlines some points I wish would have been more public long ago, and summarized my own personal feelings pretty well.

The Governor's role in this is really out of whack, from the long investigation, to the jumping in the middle of it, and now the details are outlined.

So an "unplanned computer glitch" is the reason for the leak of the confidential grand jury report, but Mr. Corbett made reservations in state college nearly two weeks in advance of its release and subsequent (and at the time, unscheduled) Board meetings?
Yeah.... This guy is corrupt as sin and he can burn for all I care.

It surely did not do Corbett any favors.

If this was all "planned" to release everything when it was, were they specifically waiting for JoePa to win game #409?

Also, I forgot to state that the termination letter to Joe linked to in the article (first time seeing this) furthers my thoughts that the BOT generally lies and severely lacks any leadership. Turn in your keys, parking pass, we'll come to your house to get our phone and fax machine.

And then after he dies we are told that he was going to be honored and wasn't actually fired, they just didn't get to tell him that? Yeah, right.

I wish they would link him and his second mile kick backs so people could truly see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Unfortunately the people that have made up their mind about Paterno will either ignore the article or not even see the article.

Hopefully the voters in PA wake up and oust him like Santorum.

I HATE Corbett and will do everything I can to make sure he doesn't win re-election!

Corbett is a big POS. Glad to see espn do a well written and researched article, maybe they should have done that when the story broke instead of insighting the lynch mob.

I would like to see the testimony for McQueary's father and Dr. Dranov included. They were able to get Paterno's GJ testimony.

Read this yesterday. Tow things kind of stuck out to me. The termination letter and a former player and Joe supporter who was a friend of Corbett's. He asked Corbett who fired Joe and Corbett said I did. All the while telling everyone publicly that he nothing to do with it.

It was a somewhat fair article and really the first article from ESPN other than a blog that has not been slanted against Joe or the football team.
