SIAP: Nebraska a 7.5 point favorite.

  • Not only do I think we cover, I say we win OUTRIGHT !!! O/U is 53.5

So far this season, we are 4-0 ATS on the road and, in those games, we were over twice and under twice

I will say we win 27-21, so we cover and go under

    What say you ???

  • Makes sense. I think we lose, then win the last two. Cornhuskers are a strong team and we did not play well on Saturday after losing comfortably to OSU. Would be tough for me, objectively, to pick us this weekend.

But I'll be rooting like hell anyway.

I agree with winning the last two, and finishing 8-4. Which will be an outstanding season considering what this team went through. An absolute memorial season for the ages leading to a COY award for OB.

I get the sentiment for BOB for COTY, but it's Bill Snyder, and it's a long way down to the next guy.

  • I don't think Nebraska is very good but the last thing the big ten wants to see is PS winning on sat...therefore similar to the osu game there will be phantom calls all over the place in this one and not one will be in our favor...take Nebraska and the points. Big ten is a joke.

So now we're going to cry about the refs BEFORE the game? Pathetic...

  • Not crying but that's how I see it unfolding.

Not to turn this into a COTY debate. But is it really coach Snyder's award to lose. Or is it the media darling Brian Kelly and ND's to lose? Or is that how the current poll has it, for Snyder to win? Cause you know the media is loving this ND story.

Are we talking about who will win it, or who should win it ? If we go 8-4, there is no question in my mind that Bill O'Brien is Coach of the Year. He has done the most under the most challenging situation. No question about it.

  • 7.5 is a lot of points, but nebraska at home and playing well right now... i think the line is pretty good. this is a head vs heart call, unlike last week.

    craztch

  • That seems a bit big, but I think bettors are probably looking at our performance against OSU as the more telling game compared to most of the others. Still not entirely confident we win this game, but we've got a decent shot, as long as our offense can play up to its potential.

Pretty confident that no one on this board sees the media love affair with ND more than me up close and personal. But Kelly is by no means a media darling, quite the opposite in fact. Teo on the other hand has no business in the Heisman discussion, yet there he is for the most obvious superficial reasons. But back to the point, it's really hard to argue against Snyder. And let's be honest, BOB got taken to school only 9 short days ago.

  • After letting my heart get in the way with the last OSU bet, I'm staying comfortably away from this one.

  • So We Are, you are saying it is hard to argue that the unprecedented conditions that took our best offensive skill positions off of our team and gave the rest of the country a free pass to take our any talent it could by just about any means necessary carry any weight here whatsoever?

Or maybe we're saying that this team basically has come back with 4 total official full time starters from last years Offense/Defense/Special Teams combined doesnt count for anything?

How about the miraculous turning of the worst quarterback in the B1G into statistically far and away the best, along with a fourth string fullback as his starting tailback and our fifth wide out is breaking records this season... ehh... nothin huh?

Yeah but K-State is undefeated. So, like you said... no argument for BoB at all.

I'd make an argument that under the circumstances I am not sure that ANYONE could have equalled BOB's performance this year. Add in keeping the (arguably) best QB and TE recruits in the country... Yeah I dont see an argument either.

  • The offense needs to sustain drives and put points on the board. If we get conservative and drives stall, our D will tire and Nebraska will pull away,

  • Hi all... This is my first post and I look forward to participating. But isn't Nebraska's -D one of the worst in the Big10?? They are tough at home but if that aggressive road team shows up this could be real interesting!

Jesus some of you guys get so butt hurt when someone goes against popular opinion of the board. Read what I said again, I said it's hard to make an arguement against Snyder, not that there isn't an arguement for BOB.

    Bingo !
We need to execute on offense, period.
They have a pretty decent offense but w/o Burkhead and with proper lane assigments we can contain Martinez somewhat.
Our D is the equilivant of MSU's and not as mistake prone or choke oriented.
I see us holding Neb. to 3-4 scores; 17-21 points if our O executes as they can and don't ghive us a bunch of 3 and outs or poor field position.
Neb. D is not full of playmakers.
An O with our design can move the ball on them if we execute and pick up the biltz.
We'll score 24-31 against them if we do this.

Yes, but so was OSU. This is the same scenario here, but on the road against a better passing team.

Why people take offense to these point spreads is beyond me. It doesn't matter. You still have to play the game.

Agree completely with this! Like Braxton Miller, we need to keep Martinez off the field. If you let them run plays and stay on the field, they will burn you with the big plays.

I think the interesting matchup will be our CBs against their WRs. Enunwa might be the best blocking WR in college football...Amos/Morris is going to have to get off those blocks to contain Martinez or Nebraska will keep drivings going like OSU did.

    Also welcome sjb

  • Line seems about right to me. PSU is going to need a thing or 2 to go in their favor to win this one. IMO, the wildcard is Jordan Hill. Without him playing and near 100%, PSU is in trouble I fear.
