Robert Foster Insight?

He also had grade issues in HS, and that is one of the reasons we turned away from him. I read an article on it on PennLive. At the end of the day, he went to Pitt, got his grades and everything else turned around, and has had an outstanding career and is most importantly a great person. It worked out well for everyone.

(Well, we had the Dark Years but you get the point, Fitzgerald himself wouldn't have put us out of that hole).

    long story short www.pennstaterejects.com

really interesting that he wanted to be a linebacker

    perfect

  • The fact that Fitzgerald went to Pitt should mean ZERO to Foster. Walt Harris is long gone from Pitt, & Chryst runs a RB first offense. If he goes to Pitt he can become the next Nick Toon & catch a dozen passes.

One of my close friends was his tutor at Pitt for a while and he worked his ass off to get better grades. She speaks very highly of him; he didn't let the stardom get to his head. Fitzgerald is one of the Pitt guys, I really respect.

Well, he may have gotten the grades to get admitted to Pitt and stay eligible for two years, but that's all -- I don't see any evidence to suggest that college was anything but a ticket to the pros for him. Since he spent a year in prep school he was able to leave after his soph year, and blazed a trail of leaving after a short stay which was followed by McCoy.

So let's not pretend there was any chance he would get a degree or that it was his intention, and that's fine. Some guys aren't cut out to be students, and it's great that there are schools like Pitt which are happy to have them.

When you have the chance to be the third overall pick in the draft and become an instant multi-millionaire, you take it.
Who cares if he left without getting his degree.

If it's important to him, he'll have plenty of time after his playing days to get it.

  • I hate to turn this into a Larry Fitzgerald thread, but if he had his grades in order out of high school, we wouldn't be talking about Pitt regarding him. It would probably have been PSU.

Larry Fitz is now attending those online classes at the U of Pheonix to complete his degree.

Wait, so he dropped out of Pitt to go to U of Phoenix? How bad were his grades? JK
