Rise of the BIG?

Okay, let me get this out of the way first - I don't really like the BIG, or Delany.
That being said....
If PSU pulls off a grand-slam hire it is huge news not just for PSU, but for the BIG and the BTN. It will be a major "oh sh!t" moment for ESPN. The BIG goes and creates its own network, then adds Nebraska, OSU pulls one of the biggest coaching names away from ESPN, the BIG creates an alliance with another conference (PAC12) that has its own network, and then PSU (potentially) adds another marquee coach.
Yea, this is going to make Bristol sh!t a brick. And there is nothing more that I would rather see right now than ESPN lose major power/dollars.
If PSU does reel in a marquee coach I'm sure we can count on that tabloid network to spin it as a negative.

It ain't a conundrum. Delany's goal is always to make the B1G as profitable as possible. He wants PSU to hit a home run so he can achieve his goal. Delany isn't the most likable, but he's very smart and very good at what he does.

Say what you want about the B1G but it has been nothing but great for PSU both academically and athletically. Penn State is now one of the best 50 schools in the country, and the 3rd most profitable athletic dept. in the country. I know that alot of people are upset about the B1G coming out and saying it might punish PSU but just like the NCAA, it was just posturing b/c the media was going crazy. It would be great to be in the ACC and get to play all the eastern schools we used to play but it just makes no sense based off of money and academic quality.

I think at this point we'd be lucky to get Murphy. He's had a great track record, and would be able to take the Grand Experiment to a new level.
Penn State should lead the journey of re-establishing the idea of STUDENT athletes.

Disagree about the public outcry bringing in the big investigation. They said they were going to investigate after things had started to die down. It was a BS move by a BS league. How many PSU replays have you seen on the BTN in recent weeks? Every other team has multiple games and we have none. If we could make close to the same money (research money included) in the ACC PSU should seriously look at that option. Might even save on travel expenses. Virginia, VT and MD could be bus rides:)
The ACC has some pretty strong academics.
A healthy PSU moving to the ACC would take something from the big and add to the ACC. Not sure if it would make the ACC a better football league than the big but it would be close. Miami, FSU, VT, Clemson and PSU would be a pretty strong core.
